Jeff, Juan and Aarron are all apart of Galaxy Automotive, yet nobody will step up as the responsible party (or manager) so they all are mentioned. On 3/3 I parked in "Retail Customer Parking" and visited and used the nearby retail shops. While parked in designated spot, my car was towed at 6:30PM. With no reasoning, or signage explaining any sort of specifics. I revisited the site today and photographed the entire area, for any relevant signs about the rules or what makes it permissible to park. I know about House Bill 22: 1314 and the consumer protections for parking. Specifically because I have had issues within the last month for the exact same reason with the same company and another. Although the parking spot was different between the first and second tow, the spots were for the same use. The first time, they released my car for free (after charging the 3 people ahead of me for the same reason) knowing I knew about HB22 1314, with the Towed Vehicle Release form, I brought. I guess they knew I was serious about this illegal "nonconsensual tow". Fastforward to today they have stated lie after lie, and made up things like business parking isn't private parking. I did the same as the last time, I provided the law in paper and my TVR form. But they denied any service to me because it was a "business". This excuse is literal nonsense, and is disproved by the simplest research. However the kept repeating the same excuse and denying me my car. I have since filed a report to the Public Utilities Commission office because if they're willing to illegally tow me twice, then the likelihood of illegally towing a unknowing person is almost guaranteed. This is a predatory business. They are as fake as they come. They will hold your car hostage, because they don't think any one will hold them accountable to the law. So here we are. Making a formal e-paper trail for everyone to know of these illegal and predatory practices, with the hopes that it ends.

I would like my car released with out any fees. I would like signage stating who specifically is allowed to park, nothing general like “Retail Customer Parking”. And I would like for the law to be followed, in regards to  a 24 hour notice, especially in this scenario I would/could have left the parking spot had I been given a notice.

On July 7th, 2022 we were made aware of the following: On May 14th, 2022 our vehicle was wrongfully-towed from The Standard apartment complex in Fort Collins, Co. It was towed by Galaxy Auto Recovery who is contracted to provide tow services to The Standard apartment complex. They sold the vehicle at auction after 30 days claiming the car was abandoned. Our son **** was out of the country at the time so was not aware it had been towed, and nobody was ever notified that Galaxy had towed his car. Galaxy claims the car did not show up on a VIN search they performed. The car is registered in the State of Oregon to my wife *** ****. Registration/ownership and insurance documents were inside the vehicle. 2015 ****** OUTBACK VIN# ***************** Title# ************ Oregon License Plate #: ****** Estimated Fair Market Value: $22,500 The VIN search they did was on May 19th. Never did any other search and they only did search through Colorado DMV. We spoke with Terri at DMV in Colorado (she would not give a last name) @ 8:10am on 7/18/22 - for an out of state vehicle they would have to have run the VIN through the NMTVIS not the Colorado DMV - an out of state vehicle cannot be found in any search using the CO DMV. That would only be used for an in state registered car. They would also have had to ensure that there were no liens or encumbrances attached to the vehicle before selling it and would have had to fill out a form stating as such. Per Colorado DMV they needed to attest that there was no lien or encumbrance on the vehicle. On May 19th and until July 7th the lien and title were with CarMax. Carmax reps have attested that they were never contacted. I now have the title in hand. *********************************** ***************************************  We have filed a complaint with the Colorado Public Utilities Commission and have been in touch with an attorney to begin civil litigation. Galaxy has failed to respond to our communication.
