I had a 1999 Suburban parked outside of ******* on ************* I-25 (Now The Inn by Raddison). My vehicle contained personal identity documents, transcripts and employment certifications. Along with clothing, family heirlooms and a plethora of tooling and accessories. Karri's Towing picked up my vehicle without notifying me on 9/23/24 although they communicate with Larimer *********************** to clear VINs even though I was working with a patrol officer to check on my vehicle prior to them towing the vehicle. Karri's Towing claimed that they contacted dispatch. Karri's Towing company also claimed that they discarded all of my property yet my personal information and documentation is being thrown around town and online. Vehicle had my title inside of it. Auctioned it all under some 'civil forfeiture'. Employee claimed that there was only clothing inside my vehicle when there is multiple witnesses and footage of me and all of my property.Attached photo is a billing receipt from a garage I took my vehicle to. Since the vehicle has been towed I have had considerable trouble with my identity and credit scores.Larimer County Incident # SO-**********

    Business Response

First off we are not the repair shop and we do not have anything to do with that repair shop so I am not sure why you attached your bills from 2023 from them. Your case number you added belongs to a closed stolen vehicle report you tried to make with ********************************* on 09/12/2024 which they informed us they closed that file due to you not responding to there efforts to contact you. ********************************* also informed us of your multiple arrest around the time the vehicle was towed so that would be why you never came and retrieved your vehicle or your belongings. We towed the vehicle on 09/23/2024 for ******* at which time the Regional Manager was there and is who signed our authorization to tow the vehicle because they could not locate the owner which again ********************************* said you were arrested so that's why ******* couldn't locate you. On 09/24/2024 we ran the vin number through the State Of Colorado and got the registered vehicle owners name and addresses, then that same day 09/24/2024 we sent our notification letter through certified mail and we have receipts for the two certified letters we sent to the addresses you registered with DMV if those addresses are no longer your current addresses it was your responsibility to change your address with DMV. We got the certified letters returned to us with *********** stickers that both read return to sender so they were never claimed at the ***********. If you would have gotten your letters you would of read where it states if the vehicle isn't claimed within 30 days from the date the notification letters are sent the vehicle will be subject to sale if the vehicle is unclaimed. We sent notification letters on 09/24/2024 30 days from then put us at 10/24/2024 and we received no communications from anyone within that time, we received a call on 12/12/2024 from a ************************ asking questions about this vehicle but we informed them we no longer had the vehicle since the vehicle was unclaimed it had been sold. When we sell a vehicle the price of that vehicle is set towards recovering some or all of the Tow Bill owed to us from you which I believe your Tow Bill was close to $2,000 but for obvious reason's we did not get the full amount that was owed to us by you. We are not required to keep vehicle's for extreme long period's of time and we are not required to keep vehicle content's for extreme long period's of time either. Vehicle content's get disposed of so as far as you having identity and credit problems those problems probably occurred when you admitted you didn't even know where your vehicle was or who may have had it is what you told Larimer County Sheriff Department when you tried to report your vehicle stolen but you did not go through with that claim, the items you have listed that were supposed to have been in the vehicle were not in the vehicle and again were probably taken from your vehicle from who ever had your vehicle before we towed it as an abandoned vehicle from *******, you started the stolen report on 9/12/2024 so that is more then enough time for those item's to go missing before we towed the vehicle. I think BBB should be interested in seeing those photos and videos you claim to have because I find it odd that you bring that up as if you knew those items would go missing. It is also interesting that you say "Karri's Towing claimed that they contacted dispatch." Our case number from ********************************* from 09/23/2024 is SO-******** we are not hiding anything as you are pressuring people to think. You blame us for your "personal property information and documentation" to be "thrown around town and put online"  but you don't tell the BBB about the several stolen reports you have made on that vehicle well before we towed it. All that was in that vehicle while we had it was clothes what ever was stolen from it before we towed it is your personal problem and this looks as though you are trying to find anyone to blame for your unfortunate problems. As for asking for $12,000.00 for a dispute amount you owed us almost $2,000 for your tow bill and clothes honestly don't equal out to $12,000.00 and your vehicle was a 1999 so 25 years old is not going to get you $12,000.00, and all of our paperwork is in order and we did nothing illegal and we are definitely not going to find nor give you a replacement vehicle. It is not our fault you have been in and out of jail constantly and are unable to handle your personal items from in or out of jail. You can provide those pictures and videos to the BBB as I think some of us would like to see if there are any videos or pictures but again your vehicle was "stolen" several times supposedly and the Larimer County Sheriff Department closed every case do to you not responding to them so those cases say Closed: NAT. We have written more than enough for this response and we have done everything legally and it is your responsibility to communicate and it seems like communication from you is slim especially after speaking to ********************************* because they informed us you would call and report your vehicle stolen and then they never heard from you again and you weren't responding to their calls or voicemails so every time they would just close the cases. We did our due diligence by sending 2 certified letters to the addresses you registered with DMV but if those are no longer your addresses then you should have updated the addresses with DMV. A lot of people fail to change there addresses with DMV and then blame everyone else except for themselves, we cant change the addresses for you that is your responsibility.

I am rejecting this response because:

Nice try *****. I understand your frustration. Not just the vehicle I'm asking for repayment. Try not to spread to much information about me around, it's pretty obvious you or the sheriff's office is doing this and after talking with you on the phone...who did you have type that message? In and out of jail, is that your excuse for knowing I was in jail and not contacting me.

U feel threatened? How do u think I feel by your good ol' boy network with Larimer county. I'm not the only one with a problem with you in this community. Good businesses would never have this bad of a complain with involved of a sheriff's department that totes integrity

You and LCSO have caused an immense amount of stress and defamation.

New flow master cats, high output alternator. That radio unit was a gift from a friend I had since I was 20. Those tools were from my apprenticeship. Those were my clothes, my dads military bags handed down to me. And that's not even it. Shut your business down. That was my life so don't cry about how your business is your life. I chose you to blame for the personal problems. How did I fail to contact **** when I was in the jail? You keep saying it was stolen previously. How ironic
