  I hired Lawn Doctor to fertilize and weed treatment of my yard. The second treatment last summer I came out onto my deck and observed **** spraying weed killer to the base of some of my small trees. I shouted and got his attention and asked what do you have in your pack. He stated weed killer. I asked why would you feed that to my baby trees!! He said he didn't, I replied I saw you!!! I took pictures of the trees that day. I called the office and let **** know what I witnessed. He said we will know in a week. I called him to let him know they didn't look happy. I took pictures of the trees that day. He said he was already out and looked at them and yes he agreed they looked like they had weed spray too close to them. He wanted to bring his tree expert ****** out to look at them. ****, ******, my landscaping friend **** and myself met to look at all the trees. ****** said they do look damaged, would I wait to see how they do next spring. I said yes I would wait. I **** up a map of all the trees we looked at that day and emailed it to *********Last fall I asked **** for him and ****** to come out and look at them. **** replied I already have and they have growth so they are fine. My tree ************* from ******* said really ***** I don't think they will make it. **** was assessing damages to trees without me being present and he is not an expert in trees. This spring I called to speak with ******, left a message and he never replied. I called again to speak with Hunter and was intercepted by ****. I said they don't look good. He said, again assessing damages on my property without me and without an expert, that he had come out and they are budding so they are fine.They are not fine. They are yellowed discolored and brown spotted leaves. I am not able to resolve this with the company after many attempts.

  Hi,

  I will accept to meet with them.  I don't accept this as a resolution just yet.  I can't click yes as it will close the case.

  I have reviewed your response and will agree to meet with a CSU expert.    
  As long as the "us" be yourself and Hunter.  **** is not welcome on my property.  I request the meeting be scheduled 10:00 a.m. or later.

  ***** is concerned that her aspen trees are not healthy because of herbicide damage. **************, Owner of Lawn Doctor of Fort Collins, asked the homeowner, ********************* if she would be willing to have an assessment of her trees from two CSU Extension Agents. ***** agreed as noted on the BBB complaint correspondence.  **************, Lawn Doctor's Certified Arborist, *************************, and extension agents and CSU professors *********************** and ********************************* met with ***** on September 5th and toured the landscape. ***** voiced her concerns about herbicide damage to the aspen trees from an application done by Lawn Doctor on May 11, 2022. Both ************** and ******************** concluded that there was no herbicide damage to the trees and identified other problems that were affecting the health of the trees. 

  I, **************, agreed that the cost of the application done on May 11, 2022 should be refunded and a check for $339.50 was sent to ********************* on September 6, 2023.

  Observations
  There was no evidence of any herbicide injury on the trees and shrubs
  The aspen had disease pressure from either Septoria or Marssonina leaf spots; more about these diseases can be read here.
  In general, aspens tend to struggle at lower elevations in urban areas; they like cooler temperatures and more ***************** soils. If planted in urban areas, they do best on the north and east sides of buildings.
  When planting, aim to plant the trees a little higher than deeper. The first structural roots should be at soil grade and not buried too deep. Here's a publication on tree planting steps.
  We would encourage you to put a mulch ring at the base of all trees planted in the lawn - the mulch ring will help prevent/eliminate lawn mower or string trimmer damage, which can kill trees. Make the mulch ring as wide as you wish and add mulch to a depth of 3-5" thick, keeping it away from the trunk. 
  The lawn, as a whole, looks great! We enjoyed your patches of buffalograss
  If you replant trees, consider some of the following:
  Serviceberry (smaller ornamental, native, good fall color)
  Redbud (smaller ornamental, plant from a northern source such as ********* or *********)
  Caddo sugar maple (selected from Caddo County, ******** with similar soils; has nice red fall color)
  Texas red oak (nice red fall color)
  ******* oak (can have reddish fall color)

  Large deciduous trees
  Columnar and fastigiate trees
