I took my vehicle to the Honest Mechanic and after going over my vehicle and the issues, the estimate was at a total of $1,200. I signed a paper saying I agreed to this amount. No contact was made for approval of a higher amount. After 2 weeks of limited contact, I called multiple times every day, more than 20 times, with no answer, and I even went to the shop to find them closed hours early multiple times. Other times they would be open with one worker. They finally contacted me to tell me the vehicle was done on March 9th 2023. Once I arrived, the bill was $2,513 which is over double the amount that I had signed for. I was told it was due to old wires breaking while they made repairs. Once I paid, my vehicle ran worse than it had before, so badly I took it in for a second time. Again, they had it for weeks on end, no one answering the phones. When I would go there, there would be 1 Mechanic working and it wouldn't be on my vehicle. Other times they would be open, and someone would be at the front desk, but hadn't answered even though I called 15 times. They gave me an estimate on the phone of $1,000. When time came to pay the bill, it was at $1.200. Another charge of over the amount and I disagreed to pay that amount, so they dropped it to $1,077. None of the parts they replaced are new or match the part number from the invoices. The wires were so tangled and not properly delt with, that they fused together, and my vehicle caught fire. The break lines were also ruined and could have caused a serious and deadly car accident. I took my vehicle to another mechanic, and they said they would have fix and redo everything that “The Honest Mechanic” did, along with more issues due to damage caused from the Honest Mechanic’s bad job. The motor mounts were broken, causing my engine to jump. Multiple charges worded differently, but for the same issues/problems and charged double. This is very serious and scary because it put myself & my family in harms way and other drivers

GVHM sincerely apologize for the issues you are experiencing. We strive for good honest work and stand by our own repairs! If anything does happen to any of our repairs we will do everything we can to fix or figure out what would be the next step to help out the customer.

GVHM still stand by our repairs and would appreciate it if you would accept our help to get your vehicle fixed. We tried reaching out to you through a phone call and text message when we heard through ***** ******* that you were having issues. Regarding the repairs. We never got a phone call or got visited to be told of the issues that you are having with the vehicle. Instead we found everything out through your reply. Thru social media

GVHM started this shop with a one man team. So sorry for the miscommunication through phone calls we really do try our best to attend to every attention that comes our way.

GVHM have improved with staff to make sure you would never have this issue again or any other customer. We are open from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. Monday - Saturday. Our doors are not locked or closed between those times.

With a repair facility we need to assess the damage that was done from the last repair. If damage can not be fixed or nothing can be done, yes we would really appreciate it if you would sit down with us to help us help you.

GVHM do not mind reimbursing our customers but we need to complete an inspection of the damage. Please bring the vehicle back at any time and we will do everything we can to help you in this situation!

GVHM have all purchase orders from every repair that was made on your vehicle.
I cannot explain or understand why you say that you were sold the wrong parts, when everything we sold to you does match our records and your vehicle.

You did not dispute it when you were making any payment with us.

GVHM  would have to agree with the other repair facility, we would need to fix any damages!

GVHM are so sorry for the bad review and experience with us and would like to change that. Thank you sincerely from Grand Valley Honest Mechanic.

I am rejecting this response because:

They have ruined my vehicle to the point I would never trust them to touch my vehicle again. They are saying that the parts match, and they do not. I have already taken my vehicle somewhere else to have it repaired. My vehicle was un-drivable and caught on fire. We did not call and make a complaint after the first three times, because they did not fix any of the issues. The work he does is unreliable and unsafe, not only for us but other drivers. We will not take the vehicle back to him. We want a refund or we will file a law suit against them.

    Regards,

I brought my car into the "honest" mechanic as it was acting as if it were going to stall out or run out if gas and although the smog pump was missing it was ($270) not the issue. I took my car to another mechanic after it continued to behave in the same manor and was informed it is not a critical part in the vehicle as why it was taken out in the first place and the cause of the malfunction was due to a $60 missing part the "honest" mechanic failed to even notice. He also said my car had a high pitched screeching noise (I didn't think it did) and the rear rotates and brakes were in need of replacement which he never showed me the old ones and close to $1000 later he replaced the power steering pump, rear rotars and breaks and he gives me print out to take it to a dealership because he "doesn't know" what the other codes are for. I thought that was his job.

This is a terrible garage, the mechanic/owner gets irate and starts arguing and behaving in an intimidating manor if you tell him these things and he really should not be in busisness. I hope someone investigates this as I know others he has done these type of unethical practices to their vehicles too.

GVHM sincerely apologizes for the misunderstanding.

GVHM strives for good honest work, we always make sure to get the customer's consent before any parts are ordered or work is done.

GVHM still has the original inspection sheet from ****** ****** who informed you that the vehicle needed a lot of work. They also informed you there were missing pieces. You wanted us to repair or replace the missing pieces on your vehicle due to the “great work” that you said from your previous owned vehicle.

GVHM walks our customers through the process of their vehicle so they fully understand to the best of their knowledge what needs to be repaired, or replaced and why. We are sorry you feel indifferent. GVHM tried to make the situation right when you came in on your last visit.

GVHM adjusted your bill due to the bartering that you asked for. Also took off the shop supply/disposal fees. GVHM still has a remaining amount from the work that we have done to fix your vehicle.

GVHM hope’s you understand we have done everything we can do on our end to fix your issues. Once again we are so sorry for any inconvenience.

I am rejecting this response because:

This is no misunderstanding. This guy has no busisness being in busisness as he is not a knowledgeable mechanic and definitely not honest. I do not trust him. I have found a mechanic that is currently fixing his work and educating me in the process. This busisness should not be allowed to continue working for the public. I want a refund for the work I paid him for and as far as ****** ****** goes if he was a knowledgeable mechanic he should know on his own and not need to order a diagram from the Mercedes dealership. What a joke.

    Regards,
