    Business Response

We are required to run a vehicle identification report on every vehicle that is towed.  Each detail that is listed is verified including license plates and VIN#.  When these do not match we make a note of the items which do not match.  The enforcement agency that calls our facility is the agency responsible for the call.  We do advise the consumer that we will be taking the vehicle to our impound lot.  If they desire the vehicle to be dropped elsewhere it must be paid for at the time it is dropped off.  If the Customer wishes to allow insurance to handle the bill they generally have it brought to our impound lot or towed to a repair facility.  It is their choice.  We do not falsify information as that would cost us our Tow License that is regulated.   We speak to the registered Owner f the vehicle to ensure that we are following the regulations that we have been given and to ensure the owner's protection of their property.  In this case, Ms. ********** ******* was not the Registered Owner and we simply asked for the registered owner to provide Proof of Ownership, and Valid Insurance and a written statement allowing Ms. * ******* access to the vehicle.  This is for the Owner's protection.  I gave my name, and email to ********** for contact.   Once the requested information was received, the vehicle was released, when payment was obtained.  I fail to understand how any information was falsified.

I am rejecting this response because:

We were prepared to pay for the tow. The tow company and the state patrol urged us to have the vehicle towed to the impound lot to make things easier for us. Later on we found out that this just made thing harder on us and costed us about 500 dollars more doing so than it would have just to get the vehicle towed to our home. The company then accused me of having fictitious plates on my vehicle which then lead me to believe they had the wrong vehicle. When I verified that they indeed had my car I had to contact authorities to ensure that the plates on the vehicle were in fact valid and match my vehicle. This caused me more embarrassment having to contact the state patrol. When I went in to get the vehicle and still was giving them my business to have the vehicle towed to my house finally they were very rude and telling me that I contacted authorities saying they were charging me 1500 dollars and that I was a liar. They treated me very poorly when I was already in a stressful situation after getting into a collision in the first place that was a minor traffic incident. They were treating me like I was a criminal.

    Regards,
