      My son had a fracture in North *******, the paranedics tha came decided that he needed to be transported in helivopter to *******.They took us to middle of the road and transfered my son to a tiny helicopter, when we arrived to the hospital 2 hours later, we sign the documents for the procedure, surgery was not necessary, the doctor at the hospital put the bones in place abd we went home the same night.Yesterday our insurance company let us know Rocky Mountain Holdings is charging US$86,999 fir a helicopter righ of 87 miles with a patient that did not ha a life or death situation a was already stabilized by the ground paramedics.The good doctor at the hospital charged US$1,764 for putting my sons humerus in place.I've seen how many people have been billed like this, once the insurance company what they believe is fair they bill the patient which is now illegal.I just want let people know to be cautious with air medical transportation predatory billing.
