PREDATORY COMPANY Our mortgage was sold to this company. After reading the reviews / warnings, this is what we did to avoid their traps:1) To preface: You have a grace ****** (by law) to transition your mortgage over to this company, during which they are not allowed to charge you late fees. Do not allow them to trick you into sending a check! THIS WORKED FOR US:Even though pressured many times to send a check, we refused (when you send a check they lose it then charge you late fees). The only avenue of payment we were willing to do was AUTOMATIC PAYMENT from a bank account that we set up with controlled funds in it. 2) We were proactive when it came to proving home owner insurance. Our insurance company sent a fax (bad idea) which they couldn't find. We got them on the line with our insurance company who tolerated their ***** of incompetence until the documents were received. ADVICE TO THE ELDERLY This company will intentionally set you up to to bilk charges out of you, or worse, seize your home!It is worth it to HIRE YOUR LOCAL TITLE COMPANY to communicate for you through this process. It will save you being charged bogus fees or being foreclosed upon!

My second mortgage was bought out from MGC by Statebridge last year. I talked personally with a man named **** about lost mitigation. I sent in all the required paperwork and it took forever for anything to happen. All the while my account kept getting behind. I sent in my bank account information for auto drafts to start in the winter of 2022, can't remember which month. I noticed in December that I hadn't had a payment taken out, so I called. Talked to a woman instead of ****, she asked if it was ok to draft my payment on the 28th, I said yes, but it never was. So here come the delinquent letters! Every time I called, the phone system wouldn't let me get past "press 1 for English". I finally reached someone last week that seemed confused as to why my auto draft wasn't working. She told me that I needed to make my account current before the drafts could start, and to make my monthly payment for February. I told her I could only afford the past due, and she said ok. Alas, they took out BOTH, making my bank account short enough to bounce two payments to other companies. They have been a total pain to deal with. **** was not very pleasing the first time I talked with him, and almost hung up on me because I asked him simple questions about why my loan mitigation was taking so long! This company needs to be monitored closely by the BBB. I wish there was a way I could leave them and find another company, but I don't think I can.
