      I was a patient at the Golden location for a few years and they did help me a lot which I'm grateful for. However, I can't recommend this place. The provider I saw was great for a while until my last appointment with her she completely dismissed how hard it was for me to do some modules she wanted me to do and kept pushing that on me with no consideration on my other medical needs and how that fit into those modules. I had to talk to the office about that and her response was very condescending and proceeded to send me the next module. Again, completely ignoring on how hard that module was on me with my other medical needs. I also had contacted the manager ******* about that and the difficulties of me getting my records sent to my primary care doctor. There was an extreme lack of communication from that office about it. He did respond to the me getting my records and it's been about a month since I told him about the provider I was seeing with no response. CR at the front desk did have an attitude towards me when I contacted her again about me getting my records. She eventually just emailed me them and she really wasn't thrilled with me. Looking at my records especially the most recent communication with them it's not accurate. I'm switched over to a different clinic outside of Sound Relief.

      The doctor you mention is an excellent practitioner, and it is unfortunate that you feel the way you do. This is the first time that I have heard anyone describe her in that way, and I believe that this is a misunderstanding. In the previous 30+ interactions you had with this provider, you seemed to be happy with her. 

      In regard to the records request, we do not compromise with patient confidentiality. We have a strict protocol that must be followed, but we apologize for any delay you experienced.

      First, the hearing aids they recommended, Opticon custom fit hearing aids, work as far as lessening the tinnitis when wearing them. The bad, the sound quality is horrible - I went in for adjustments multiple times and in the end, it never got any better. Also, if you are using insurance, assume you will be paying more than your insurance states. I was told by my insurance that they charged me a little over $2,000 more than they were supposed to. When I confronted them with this, they said that they have a secret contract with the insurance company that supercedes the coverages in the insurance company contract I signed. This basically says that they can charge anything they want. I sent them the email from the insurance stating that they owe me over $2,000 and they told me - Too bad, we can charge more than what the insurance company states because we do not honor the contracted fees the insurance companies have with their customers. Of course they could not provide me with this secret contract that lets them charge them whatever they want, though I did send them the email from the insurance company supporting my claim. I am fine with them charging whatever they want for a product, but dont enter into an agreement with an insurance company if you have no intention of upholding your end of the contract. Ask up front, before you pay a *****, how much is this going to cost me after my insurance pays their part. I paid everything up front which was a huge mistake. Once they have your money, they really do not need to return any of it, unless they have ethcs and morals which clearly this company does not.

      Sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with your experience. I apologize for the lack of specificity in my response, but I want to respect your privacy.

      First, we allowed you to field trial different manufacturers and types of devices, and you chose the Oticon devices.

      In addition, you had 30 days to return your devices if you were unhappy with their sound quality.

      In regard to insurance, we estimated UHC to pay $xxxx for your devices, and you paid your estimated portion.  Getting the claim to process was a long process, including a pre-authorization (that they did not initially indicate would be necessary), and then a request for Medical records.  The claim did pay and paid $xxxx.  We refunded that directly to you and then subsequently refunded you an additional $xxxx as a discount.  Your treatment and claim amount included Tinnitus Retraining Therapy (TRT) for $xxxx, which is not covered by insurance and does not have any insurance codes that we can specifically use for your ongoing follow-up care. In other words, no health insurance covers the treatment of tinnitus, only partial reimbursement for hearing devices used with TRT.

      As is our standard practice, ************** explained to you that the Tinnitus Retraining Therapy (TRT) portion of the claim would show up as a provider discount on your explanation of benefits and that you should read that as an upgrade amount.  

      We feel that we were very transparent in what you could expect from your insurance and have tried to work with you by providing a large discount already. We wish that insurance acknowledged the importance of treating tinnitus and offered better benefits, but some coverage for the hearing devices for the sound therapy portion of TRT is better than no coverage, which is what many patients are dealing with today.

      Lastly, we do not have any "secret contracts" with UHC. We have asked them to modify their EOBs by not labeling the amount they do not cover as a provider discount and instead say not a covered benefit. They refused to make this change, which is frustrating for all, even when UHC provider services support us in providing upgrades for tinnitus services (I.e., TRT).

      I visited Sound Relief in Golden five years ago to address age related hearing loss and was given comprehensive evalution and testing and prescribed wonderful hearing devices. I have kept in contact for follow up care and have been carefully monitored for hearing status and device effectiveness. As a retired man, I also was made aware at that time of a suspected connection between hearing deficit and dementia. This suspicion has been validated by medical research. It's important to note that the Audiologists at the ********** facility are all credentialed and the equivalent of Ph.D. ******** They participate in research and are a vital part of my healthcare team. I recently completed their program for tinnitus management. The knowledge and processes of mitigation conveyed are immediately palliative and the year long best practices will make tinnitus a far more manageable problem. This is a firm that is dedicated to my hearing and health related care. They have my complete trust.

      I have been battling tinnitus for two years following a major head concussion. The ear ringing was constant and nothing seemed to help. My quality of life was adversely impacted due to increased anxiety and depression. I had tried a number of solutions....but nothing helped.I recently moved to ** and heard about the Sound Relief Hearing Center from a friend. I made an appointment and am thrilled to report that my outcome has already been nothing short of AMAZING!!! After a thorough examination by the Doctor, he recommended very small hearing devices for each ear...specifically designed to reduce my tinnitus.After just two weeks of wearing the devices, I am pleased to report that my tinnitus is drastically reduced. I understand that I will need to continue wearing the devices while my brain builds new paths for processing noise. That will not be a problem because the devices are comfortable and have brought me relief and improved my quality of life. I highly recommend the Sound Relief Hearing Center for anyone battling tinnitus.

      I called for an appointment about ten years ago after seeing an advertisement on TV for Sound Relief. I was experiencing very bad tinnitus in both ears and had some significant hearing loss due to work related exposure. I traveled from northern ******** to south ****** to one of the two Sound Relief offices at the time. I was impressed from day one regarding the service I received. I have now seen three different doctors, each being very knowledgeable, patient and caring regarding my hearing issues. I just had a follow up appointment this morning at the ******************* office and Dr. **** is equally as concerned about my hearing issues and provides the same knowledgeable, patient and caring service that I received many years ago. My tinnitus is not gone, but if and when I do experience tinnitus, it is barely noticeable instead of debilitating as before. Along with the tinnitus management, the hearing devices utilized to address my hearing loss are state-of-the-art and provide me the opportunity to experience life to its fullest. I have and will continue to enthusiastically recommend Sound Relief to friends and family.

      *************** has really helped me with my tinnitus. I was really struggling with not being able to hear plus the persistent ringing that drove me crazy. **************** got me into hearing aids that helped with both issues, but more importantly, he took the time to listen to me, give me education about tinnitus and how to manage it, and always answered every question I had. I continue to see him for follow up care for the tinnitus, and he makes sure my hearing aids have the latest software updates and are working exactly as I need them to. Hes never made me feel like a problem patient. **************** is out of my insurance network, but it is worth it! Ive seen other doctors, and they didnt know much about tinnitus or how to help me with it. I am very thankful to **************** and his team. This is a great office.
