    I have an old house on a steep hill that had movement and problems with cracks in the drywall, doors sticking etc. There was a clear drainage problem on one side of the house (made worse by a city water main bursting and sending a river of water at my house for an hour). It was complicated and puzzling - several highly rated engineering companies came and they'd string me along for a few weeks and then send me to someone else. Then I found Van Matre. *** came and spent hours looking at the symptoms and listening to my explanations of what the various engineers had said. He recommended *********************** of Level Engineering (also 5 stars) and they came up with a plan. *** was a such a stand up guy. It was big project and he was really committed to finishing it within the paramters they promised and in the time he had estimated. My neighbor commented on how amazing it was that the guys would show up every day at 8:30-9 and stay until 5. They even shoveled snow so they wouldn't lose days. **** was the project manager for the inside part and ***** for the rest and they were both great. I had been dreading it and couldn't believe how smoothly everything went. Communication was great at every step, they listened to my concerns, answered all of my questions patiently and thoroughly, and I can finally close the chapter on something that had kept me up at night for a long time. Bottom line: honest company, great communication, does what they promise.
