    I am in the process of working with Kari Rippy to purchase a horse for my family. As I always do, I jumped on BBB to do a quick check of business information etc. I was especially interested in the "claims" that have been filed and once I read them felt compelled to write this review to help others see a slightly different perspective. When purchasing my horse (as with other sellers) I was given the option to put down a nominal non refundable deposit to "hold" the horse as I was making decisions and setting up the necessary appointments etc. I DECLINED to do so. I understand that this put me at risk for the horse being sold to someone else but I also understand what NON refundable means. I don't know why buyers think this is not a contractual obligation. It is in all other industries. When someone stops marketing something, especially something that costs money to keep (food, shelter, care etc.) there are hard costs involved. There will always be other "fish in the sea" and other horses to buy. Sorry - I think buyers need to start taking responsibility for their actions and not complain to a government entity because they don't take contracts or the term non-refundable seriously. I am a seasoned horse owner and buyer. I have had a lovely and professional experience dealing with ****. I was referred to her by a number of other knowledgeable horse people that I trust. Buyers have responsibilities just like sellers. Do your homework and fully understand what you are committing to. Don't blame others for following through on their policies.
