We were working with L&B Flooring and More LLC to install an attic and an attic door with a ladder.. ***** (the contractor that responded to our ********** inquiry) advised he could finish this project in a few days back in December. He said he would return after doing the floor to complete the door installation and ceiling repair caused by accidental damage caused during the floor installation when the hatch door came in to where he ordered it from. He told me on 12/21/23 the door was damaged during delivery and he had to reorder. We did not hear from him for several days. I reached out on 12/26/23 asking for the status. He replied 29th to the 2nd. Holidays **** to get things in. The 29th, 30th, 31, and 1 of January passed with no communication from him. I reached out again after no reply from him on 1/2/24. He said Ill check tomorrow. He did not respond the next day or any day thereafter. I reached your again asking for an update. No reply. My partner reached out to him January 8th annd he said hed come on January 9th. He did not show up. He reached out again by phone and ***** said hed be here January 10th. He did not show up. I reached out and my partner reached out via phone and text on January 10th. No reply or answer via text or call. He has been unresponsive and has not shown up to finish the job he began since December 18th, 2023. We need a response or we will be taking legal action, as the homeowners are very dissatisfied with the state of the unfinished project theyve already made payments toward to have completed. We need to give the homeowners an update - please advise as soon as possible or deliver us the door that was promised for our attic, or the owners stated they will be reversing the charges that were collected as fraudulent, as well as pursue legal action as they believe no one intends to finish the project and money was collected by the contractor for incomplete work.

On December 17th, he broke through the floor damaging the ceiling of the house and left. Tuesday, December 19th, he returned to repair the ceiling damage hed caused. He tried to blame the situation on how the attic was built, stating There is no weight on the drywall at all.  The wood sits on top of the stud. What is happening there is this and it's infotainment that this was on me but this is when they were hanging drywall and that spot where it separated was where 4 sheets of drywall met. Two of the pieces didn't meet in the middle of the stud the is why so many screws were in that spot just to tack it up there so the mudder could skim it and texture it. The only thing that was on it was the over amount of insulation and just that little pressure made it separate.  This is the result of previous drywallers not adjusting there drywall to fit right.

On January 19th, we entered attic and discovered the contractor had been smoking cigarettes in the attic while working, as butts were scattered everywhere. The job was also not complete and insulation was everywhere. He promised us a 16x32 floor but only about 12x12 space of boards were laid down.

On January 19th, ****, contractor texted us You can hire someone else.

On January 22nd, ****, new contractor arrived and confirmed the ceiling damage was not accidental but was caused by the prior contractor doing his work incorrectly, placing pressure between the flooring and insulation when insulation needed to be leveled and adjusted to prevent pressure that results in breakage. New contractor also confirmed incorrect flooring was used - inch osb needed to be used, not inch as prior contractor had used. Flooring had to be torn up and redone with the correct materials.
