I made a $4000 payment on 07/30/2024 for my father's funeral service, which was on 08/01/2024. After I paid them and left, and I called them. The lady on the phone told me I had paid $1000. That got fixed right away. I paid for most of the funeral and my sister paid for the the remaining, witch was under half. I have been to funerals at this place before but the one for my dad was very disorganized. I would never had paid for that service. First of all I was not at any of the appointments to see what I was paying for. My sister was at all of them helping make decisions, when she did not even pay half. Then I was not even informed of them closing the casket prior to the service. When leaving, the pallbearers were so confused of what they should be doing, they didn't know what to do. Then when the pallbearers took my dad out to the ***** I wanted to get pictures and I had no clue how they were taking my dad out. The lady at drinkwine told us the wrong area at the ************************. Everyone was everywhere. Pallbearers were way in the back of the line at the cemetery. There was only one person working at my dad's funeral. She was very disorganized running back and fourth did not even collect the cards. She was in every picture of the bad pictures that I got of the pallbearers. It seemed like she did not know what she was doing. Even at my brother's funeral that I could not help with financially everyone was informed of everything and did not cost even a fraction of my dad's funeral. Worst funeral i have ever been to. I do understand my mom is next of kin but when you have one of the people that paid less then half there making decisions you should have anyone that paid there so they know what they are paying for. I did email the mortuary they did tell me that I could go down and get a refund but never went through with it.

    Hello BBB,

We provided the funeral services for the complaintant's father at Drinkwine Family Mortuary. ********* agreed to pay a portion of the funeral expenses in the amount of $4000.00. She met with me personally, gave me her credit card, signed the the receipt and a copy of the receipt was provided to her. Drinkwine Family Mortuary rendered all the services requested by the family. There was not a phone call to Complaintant from Drinkwine Family Mortuary advising a different payment in the amount of $1000.00. The funeral services were not disorganized. The pallbearers were properly instructed and were guided into the shelter at **. **************************** in standard protocal. After the service Drinkwine received two exemplary reviews by two members of the family on ****** and on Yelp; one from the legal next of kin, the wife of the decedant. The complaintant has no justifiable standing to request and receive a fund. A chargeback was initiated and after a full investigation, complaintant's chargeback was denied. Any internal discourse with the complaintant and her family should not involve Drinkwine Family Mortuary. We would request BBB to contact other family members and do a thourough investigation into the Complaintant's story. Respectully, ******** Drinkwine

I paid drink wine for a service so they should have at least informed me of what was happening. Mom mother was devastated that her husband passed. She was having trouble with keeping herself together just as anyone would. This is why I gave the money to drink wine so that I would at least get a good service for my dad. Which did not happen. I have people ready to write letters saying their experience. One of them a paw bears saying they had now clue what they were doing.. I should have had paid someone that had no connection to anyone there at the funeral because it would not be as drinkwine states. That is fine that they got review but those people did not pay for the service if they did very little. As you can see in the picture the lady in every picture was having a hard time getting the casket on the rollers. I wasn't informed of anything when I paid. Not she why she would say: contact other family members and do a thourough investigation into the Complaintant's story. My family has nothing to do with her doing a bad service. Plus to say that after the loss of my dad. This only has to deal with her services. It is not just me that that the service were a disaster. If they think the funeral was so great they should refund me and make them pay for it. I would let them redo the service but my dad is already in the ground.

Also I did dispute it through the bank but all they care about is if services were provided. The least they could have done was made sure i got a last call when they closed the casket. Drinkwine should have never taken my money if they were not going to give me any information one what was going on or what was going to happen. I was the one trying to get some of the paw bears out of the parking lot so they could get to the grave site. If the cemetery has cameras you can see how big of a mess it was for yourself.

    Thank you,
