I attempted to cancel an appointment scheduled numerous times by calling the number of the facility. I had not scheduled this appointment for follow-up because they could not see me within my needed time frame, and I had met my deductible and was switching insurances the following year. I continually could not get anyone to answer the phone after calling 6-7 times and getting disconnected. When I was there in person, I informed the desk clerk, and he told me he would try to work on getting me an appointment in 2024. I received numerous calls to change appointment but none in 2024 and I had changed practices. I received a notification of the appointment and was running a temp and had been exposed to Covid with positive results. The office had posted to not come in when having a temp. or being exposed to Covid. As a RN who is very conscientious of difficulty in getting care, I called again without success and even tried to call the business e. I believe this is not just terrible service but does not meet standards.Business Response

Urology Associates required us to pay an upfront service fee for a procedure on 12/15/23. We received an *** from our insurance showing they overcharged us according to our network rate and we have been fighting with them for over 5 months to get the money back. When we first received the *** from our insurance, we called them on 3/1/24 to request a refund, they told us they would send back a request to get it issued for $2000.21. After a month we still hadnt received a check so when we called for an update we found they never issued a refund, instead they filed a dispute with our insurance company and told us we need to 45 days from 3/12 to allow time for processing. So we waited. We called again sometime in either late April or early May, we got another runaround answer that we had to wait so we gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited.On 7/8, we got our insurance company on the phone with Urology Associates and they told our insurance they filed a corrected claim so they were waiting for that to process. The lady from Urology Associates read a note in our chart that said waiting for corrected claim to process, do not issue refund Our insurance rep stated they know they cant file a corrected claim after their appeal was already denied and the decision was upheld on 5/28. The decision was final so their corrected claim wont process. Then the rep looked at the corrected claim they filed and said there wasnt even any correction, they sent the same exact claim just to send something. She told them this is not okay and they need to issue us a refund right away. They responded they would send a check that day. We called Urology Associates and our insurance again on 7/26 to find once again the refund has not even been initiated. Weve been patient and understanding but this is past the point of administrative processing issues, and its clear they are intentional in the fraud they are conducting.Business Response

I had a procedure on 9/28/23 at Urology Associates. At the time of the procedure, Urology Associates collected ****** from me via credit card as the estimated cost for the procedure based on my insurance. This amount was to be applied to my deductible. I paid an additional 139 via credit card for a test kit that I knew wouldn't be applied to my insurance. Afterwards, Urology Associates was not able to provide United Healthcare (my insurance provider) with the documentation for the claim in a timely fashion. After several phone calls from my wife to both United and Urology Associates, the paperwork was finally submitted correctly. By this time, it was now Feb 2024 and I had hit my out of pocket deductible for the previous year. My insurance paid out the claim at an amount of ****** and showed that I only should have paid *****. Instead of returning the difference to me, Urology Associates has kept both payments. My wife has called several more times and Urology Associates says that the claim is processed on their end and any money will be refunded. Despite over 8 months passing since the procedure, Urology has not returned the money and I am seeking help from the Better Business Bureau to get them to return the ****** that I overpaid. Their company is using fraudulent billing practices and not acting ethically nor communicating in a timely fashion. Thank you for your assistance.Business Response

Appt Jan 10 2023 8am I called last summer to inquire about a Vasectomy consult for my husband, I was told the consult would be free. I was also informed that if the procedure was scheduled for same day the Vasectomy would be $800 instead of the normal fee. After a couple rescheduled appointments, when we arrived for appointment we had to pay $800 upfront then saw the Dr. for the consult. My husband was told he was not eligible for procedure due to a surgery he had almost 50 yrs ago. We were refunded the $800 before we left the office. A month later we received a bill for $200- office fee. We called to question the free consult and were told that after checking with the Dr. that the bill was accurate and we were expected to pay for the office fee/consult. If it was standard to charge why were we refunded the full $800 and not only $600? Fishy I was told one thing then the office staff had to go check with the Dr. after being questioned. If there is a charge why did they have to "check" with the Dr. ** one mentioned the day of that there would be any charge and we expect this charge to be reversed.Business Response

I had a medical visit on 10/26/2022 with a total bill of $93.36. I paid the bill via my HSA account on 10/26/2022 (in office). I have received two additional bills, and the company will not communicate with me, they just direct me to pay online.
