      On August 9th 2024 my wife and I paid a deposit to Josh Brooks Construction and Renovation (J-B-C-R) for work regarding a support beam that was installed previously by another firm in a house we own in ******* (************************************). We were provided with an invoice and we paid the deposit of $2220 (invoice is attached). After that we started having trouble contacting **** Brooks and we kept being told that there were delays and **** admitted he did not have the correct license with the city of ******* and that he was working on obtaining it. He had not disclosed this beforehand.Around Sept. 9th we were told by **** Brooks that he was unable to obtain the correct license and that he would refund us the money. He asked to be patient about that as it might take up to two weeks for the refund to go *************, Sept. 26th, I called **** Brooks and as soon as I told him what I was calling about he immediately told me to never contact him again and that there will be no refund.I also had started an email thread with him in which he again gave various reasons for his unwillingness to provide us a refund. (the full email thread is attached in a pdf)These were his main reasons:I said he did not any work (as described in the invoice/estimate) he responded: - "Did no work? We spent countless hours working with your city government that is blocking reciprocate license" (obtaining the reciprocate license was not in the invoice or scope of work)I said we would like a refund he responded: - "It is not refundable as it is forfeited in administrative fees due to your city government. Do not contact me again or it will be considered harassment and I will seek a cease a desist order. Good day" and "You have paid a fee that will not be refunded due to city policy" He has failed to articulate any reason for which he is not providing a refund for work he did not perform.

      Absolutely awful!!!! I signed up for local services on ****** when I was contacted by Josh ********************** construction. I answered and explained that I was looking for a structural engineer to tell me what walls in my house were structural vs not. Also we were told that we had foundation issues so I needed that as well. He said " not a problem, $350" I said " Let me give my husband a call and i'll give you a call back" His exact words " You will not find another structural engineer for less than $500" I should of known at that exact moment that he and his partner were just a scam. The guy came out, looked at 2 walls, offered me a $10,000 project for what I wanted done and spent the rest of the time talking about a $100,000 renovation. He then asked for his $350 check or cash. The check was cashed right away. I reached out over 72 hours ago and still have yet to receive a response however responded to my honest review with " This guy wanted to argue with 2 state licensed gas with 60 years experience" and call me a crybaby I did not argue, I was beyond nice. The customer service is beyond trash and the not responding is beyond unacceptable. I would recommend steering clear of "**** ********************** construction and done right Construction" I am beyond happy to show proof of text messages as well as the $25,000 quote I received when I was told in person a few hours prior that it would be

      I hired ******************************* to assemble a shed in a kit and put up a 20 foot fence. He started the shed, my neighbor assisted him for 2 days because he had not leveled the shed. He started the fence placing posts in the ground but never came back to finish the job. My neighbor has now spent 2days fixing the posts and mounting the fence. He still wants to fix the shed that is still not assembled correctly. I would like **** to refund me the money because he didnt finish the job I hired him to do. The work he did complete was done incorrectly.

      There were several snow days and the day **** flipped out on how long it was taking to come back and finish the fence, there were 50 mile an hour winds and per ****'s direct text message it stated don't come back.

      I am rejecting this response because:

       

      **** told me he would come back to finish the fence when the weather warmed up.  There were 2 days he could have come back to finish the fence and he didn't.  He texted me first saying he wasn't coming back to finish the fence.  I am simply asking to be reimbursed for the $500 he charged me for the fence that he did not complete.  I have just received a threatening text message with vulgar language from him calling me names this morning and this is not ok.

      The day **** wanted me to come back and finish her fence, there were 60 mile per hour winds. You cannot put up a vinyl fence in 50 mile per hour winds. She could have waited 1 more day, however, I have proof of her anger and her statement to do not return to her property. There was no contract between us and this she'd project that supposedly could be finished in a day took 2 weeks to finish.  Since the customer fired us off the job, she is NOT ENTITLED TO A REFUND OF ANY SORT. this is where I stand, theres no refund as she owed me 350 dollars for materials and ******* bought above and beyond the price for labor. So, you do the math, 350 which she agreed to reimburse me for, plus 150 for having to deal with this. My time is valuable and I'm not REFUNDing ANYTHING.
