      On Jan 27, 2025, I swiped my credit card at the claw machine twice at the Vons supermarket located in *******************. The machine advertised that each play was $1. The machine didn't work both times, so I thought tough luck, I lost $2. Later on, I noticed that my credit card was charged $5.20 for each swipe ($10.40 total).I did notice a sign at the bottom of the machine saying that the $1 is cash price, and credit cards would incur additional processing fee. I thought the processing fee would be the typical 10% and did not expect it to cost 5 times as much as the cash price. This company needs to have BIG SIGNS alerting customers that $5.20 is the price they would have to pay to use a credit card.Secondly, since the machine didn't work, I emailed the company to request a refund, and I got the following response:"NEN is unable to refund more than one play, therefore we ask that a guest does not continue to place money into a machine once they have attempted to use it and the machine malfunctions."I think this is a completely unreasonable policy, that you can only refund once. I think it is completely normal for anybody to try the machine again if the first time didn't work, especially if you have a child begging you to get a toy from the machine. It's not like the customer kept trying 5 or 6 times. I think I am entitled to get a refund for both times that I tried the machine, especially if I was charged 5 times the amount I should have been charged.With this kind of policy, the company is operating at the same level as scammers in my book.
