I took my clock to be restored to this shop called Art's Clock Shop. He restored it. However, upon picking it up. I brought it home and it worked just fine for the first 2 days. On the 3rd day it started to act up. When it was like 5 pm it would chime 4 times, then on the 5th day it started to do the opposite. When it was like 5 pm it would chime 6 times. I reached out to the person who did the repairs which is the owner. he advised me on how to correct the issue. I did what he told me to do. However, it didn't fix the issue. I have been texting him and calling. He will not return my calls or text. I have also because his shop is 2 hours away, told him he needs to come to me. I've went to him twice to drop off and pick up. IK can't even afford to support myself. Although, I still paid him ridicules amount of money for a clock to be restored which he told me in his expert opinion my clock was worth a lot. And I should have done this research prior to taking him my clock. The clock is only worth about at the highest price on the auction site was $500. And that's at best. I would never agreed to have my grandmother's clock that was passed down to me restored or at least not until I was more financially stable. When it was not actually worth anywhere near what he charged me to restore it!! I want this issue addressed as soon as possible. Please I gave him a deposit to start the work with a money order. Then paid it off with cash.

In regard to the complaint against Art's Clock Shop. I am emailing to inform you, that the person or the owner of Art's Clock Shop, will not return my calls or text msgs.

He took my $950 and did not assist me when I called left msgs and texted him, informing him of the issues with the repairs he preformed. And that he needed to assist with this. He did text me once telling me how to resolve the issue.

When I told him it didn't work and he either needed to give my money back or he needed to come to my home and fix the clock.

I have driven an hour and a half to drop it off then to pick it up. So, he needed to come to me and fix it. Once I told him that he then stopped all contact with me, hasn't communicated with me at all. Which is why I made the complaint.

Consumer was explained the cost upfront. She put off paying for the repairs and talked about hardship issues. She said the clock was very important to her since it was from her grandma and her brother had accidently broken it. I did not provide her with an appraisal. The clock was repaired with new parts, and returned to her. When she called I explained to her the need to wind the clock. She was also given written instructions. Refunds are not due and will not be provided. I will look at the clock.
