I am filing a formal complaint against LaCreacia Pettitt, who has been providing daycare services at ********************************************** Over the time my children have attended this daycare, we have encountered multiple issues that raise concerns about the quality of care and compliance with licensing regulations.1. Poor **************************** The provider never given us progress reports or updates on what our children were being taught. We weren't informed about ****** plans or activities and recently discovered that our child was being taught about race without our knowledge or consent. On 2/19/25, she reported for the first time that she has been attempting to toilet train our daughter without permission from us (parents) or prior advisement from the daycare provider. We believe parents should be made aware of what their children are learning, and we were disappointed by the lack of transparency.2. ***************** Issues On multiple occasions, our children came home with severe diaper rashes, suggesting that diaper changes were not being done frequently enough. On 2/18/25, we picked up our daughter and found her sitting in a soiled diaper that had not been changed. On 2/18/25,-2/19/25 the provider texted personal attacks and vulgarities, including curse words The contract prohibits "hot topic" subjects, which the provider attempted to engage in via text on 2/19/25 This raises concerns about supervision and attentiveness, as neglecting diaper changes can lead to infections and discomfort.3. General Concern for Child Welfare Given these ongoing issues, we no longer trust this provider to care for our children safely and responsibly. The daycare provider has terminated us from providing care to our children immediately without warning or explanation. We paid the provider for the entirety of the month of February and the provider now refuses to refund us the overpayment and is has threatened legal action if we ask again. ($180)Business Response

Thank you for providing your feedback and I acknowledge your concerns. Having worked with you and your *****ren for a few years now I am surprised to hear these concerns as until recently no concerns have been brought to my attention.
1. As you are aware, I use Class Dojo to communicate with parents about the kids progress and anytime a new topic in the curriculum is brought up. I have never taught race in my daycare, I do keep books in my classroom that are about race or community and will answer the kids if they ask any specific questions, but race is not part of my curriculum. Per my post that you shared with this complaint (Img. 5802), I am an inclusive daycare, but race is not part of my curriculum just as the post states. On February 18, 2025, I had asked the youngest ***** if she was sitting on the potty and whether she wanted to do so and the ***** answered yes to both questions, this is when I informed the parents of such progress. I have tried to be as transparent and communicative as I can be with all parents so that they are aware of what their *****ren are learning and how their progress is going. At any time a family has questions in regards to what the current theme, activities, or what's being taught, I encourage them to reach out. I use the Frog Street Curriculum which is shown at the time of your first tour. I also sent out Parents as Partners guides which were often left behind (along with art projects, and other materials that would indicate what was being taught) and no feedback was supplied.
2. Having taken care of your kids for three years you have never complained to me about any neglect or hygiene issues. Diaper rashes do occur in *****ren, and we have spoken about it previously where you raised no concern. Accidents in diapers happen often and I change them as soon as I am aware and able to. However, there are times during pick up where the ***** soils their diaper just before parents pick them up, I will always offer to change the ***** before they leave if this does happen. On February 18, 2025, around 8 p.m. you had reached out to me asking if I had any books on race, assuming you wanted recommendations I told you about the books I have on race and community and recommended a few that help if *****ren are asking questions. After this the conversation became hostile as you started accusing me of things that were untrue and hurtful. I had told you I do not teach race but keep the books in case *****ren start asking me questions. At this time, I recommended the best option was to terminate care as it seemed we were no longer a good fit for your *****ren, though I did give a two week notice to give you time to find other *****care. I was not hostile or attacking you with my messages, the only vulgar word used was used in a common phrase and was not my way of attacking but just repeating the phrase. I tried multiple times to disengage and leave it at the termination letter via email as it was clear the conversation was not productive to either of us. Further, it is true that the contract asks not to discuss hot topic subjects, however you had reached out to ask me about books I had on race and I had been answering your questions which I did not find to be a hot topic subject at the time.
3. I had given you a two week notice of termination and the reason for such being that I am no longer able to meet your *****s needs and we are no longer a good fit, which is a valid reason per the contract you signed based on the image you submitted of the contract (***. 5807) Reasons I may Terminate. In the contract that you signed, it states there are no refunds for the month. Giving that two week notice means that your ***** would not have had to miss out on anytime in February anyway as I gave a two week notice on February 19, 2025, giving you time to finish the month and find an alternative ***** care provider. However, you continued to reach out and the conversation had become hostile, I did not want anything to escalate so I determined that termination would be best immediately. I am not required to give any reason to terminate care. You agreed to a contract that states very clearly that there are no refunds on payments or deposits. You asked about a deposit being applied and I reminded you that you never paid a deposit so there was nothing to apply in this case. You continued to ask even after that was explained. The contract you agreed to also states that you owe for the last two weeks regardless of whether or not your *****/*****ren attend. So, yes, you did receive updates on what your ***** was learning and had the opportunity to inquire and chose not to. You did not have any concerns about quality of care or compliance with regulations until after you were terminated from care. I repeatedly told you that I do not teach race here and that your accusations were extremely uncomfortable and I did not appreciate them. I had to make a post to other families because you contacted me and went off about my having taught your *****ren about race when nothing even close to that happened. I also reminded you that spreading misinformation about me teaching race was not in anyone's best interest and no one was teaching your *****ren about race. I also let you know that asking questions and noticing people are different was completely age appropriate and nothing to be worried about. That its a normal part of development and I reminded everyone what it's nothing to be afraid of. So the statement that you never knew *** that I taught you *****ren about race is a fabricated. Completely untrue.
Over 3 years you brought an additional ***** into my care. I have maintained a license with the state and have never had any infractions or accusations of neglect. You claim that there were sefereal occasions that diapering neglect occurred but you never spoke to me about a pattern of neglected diapers, rashes nor did you report anything. It's kind of hard to accept that you brought not only one ***** into my care, but then a second ***** if you felt I was not caring for them properly. In fact when your ***** was younger he was so prone to rashes that you were concerned that I was going to think that you weren't changing him at home. Your daughter was not prone to rashes and did not have any while in my care, nor did she has any type of rash when she left my care that day, having gone potty 15 to 20 minutes prior. You also failed to report any neglect to the authorities, state or *****ren's services. You received several photos and updates each day of your *****ren on the days they attended. These accusations are completely false and a blatant attempt to damage my business and reputation.
As for personal attacks. I did say that all of this came from a dark place in your heart and I truly believe that. I did make a comment saying that you problaly think they teach Critical Race Theory in elementary schools. Again, I truly believe you are misinformed about what *****ren already know and what *****ren are "taught" about race. What was I teaching about race specifically and when did I teach these things was never addressed. Again, because it didn't happen.
You trusted me with your *****ren until you were terminated on 2/18/2025. It was only after I terminated care with you that all of a sudden you didn't trust me, had a concern for general ***** welfare and any supervision issues.
You seem to forget that it was you that threatened legal action. You said that if I didn't return you money (even though the contract states it is non refundable) you would get a lawyer. I responded that I knew you would bully me with one because you work in the legal field. So again to say that I threatened you with legal action if you asked about the money again is completely false. I never said that, and you brought up lawyers and suing first. I simply told you I was prepared.
Both **** and ****** have engaged in fraudulently reporting their past *****care payments as suspicious in Venmo. When that was unsuccessful they decided to spread false information via using the BBB. They will not be getting a refund of their $180 unless they go through the appropriate channels of small claims court, and again they agreed to a contract that states there are no refunds provided.
I request that the statements made be retracted and **** and ****** admit that it was fabricated in an attempt to extort money from me by damaging my business with false claims. Everything submitted on their behalf clearly shows that this is retaliation because they were cut from my care. I also ask that the BBB remove these false statements as this was not made in good faith and they shouldn't get involved in the dishonest tactics used by parents who are angry at their former provider. I am shocked that anyone would read this and look at the evidence submitted and think otherwise.
I would like these false claims removed within 72 hours.
Again, I am surprised to hear these concerns arise but want to ensure I hold my business to a high standard. I have had parents write me exceptional reviews and emails about their time with my daycare. I am confident that if you speak to any of the families in my care or former families I have worked for, they would assure you that this is an inaccurate representation of my business and the care I provide for *****ren,
