Don't just walk away from this company. Run as fast as you can! We hired Liscott to build a home for our family in Summit County, ********. After taking 7 figures from **, Liscott delivered a home that was far from complete and riddled with significant structural and cosmetic deficiencies. We have foundation walls out of plumb by several inches. We have a top to bottom crack in the foundation. The structural steel in our basement was never properly leveled, so the home sunk into the basement by approximately 2" down the entire center line. The resulting damage from having to use hydraulic jacks to raise the home was extensive. The modular sections of the home were never properly assembled together resulting in walls that are out of plumb and need to be completely reframed. Structural steel was welded with a hardware store welder and was so poorly done the welds were broken with taps from a hammer. The roof and soffit of our home has several openings and holes large enough to allow birds to nest inside our home. Grading and soil compaction around our foundation was done so poorly that every footing that was to support decks, patios and entry ways sunk and broke away from our home. Nearly every interior door is damaged beyond repair. All wood flooring is warped and pulling up from the sub floor and will need to be completely replaced. Interior trim was installed so poorly that it is pulling away from the walls in several areas. Nearly half the trusses for our garage roof were broken, yet still used to frame up our roof. Even after being given engineering approved repair guidelines to these trusses, no repairs were properly done. We've had to bring engineers, soils experts, electricians, plumbers, framers, concrete crews and more to correct the never ending series of defects in our home. We are now tasked with demolishing and rebuilding a substantial portion of our home.... after paying over $1million.

None of these claims have been proven or substantiated and this matter is currently under legal suit so this type of defamation is illegal. The only reason the home "was far from complete" is because this customer had their attorney place a "Notice of Demand" stop work order prematurely...after one single walk-through. We were not given the opportunity to finish the project, let alone remedy these deficiencies. I will not address all of their ridiculous claims and will instead allow the legal system to sort it out.

As a modular dealer who has been in business for over 25 years and helped hundreds of customers with their residences we have never had a claim like this so as a potential reader of this review I would hope that you would consider both sides of this "story" before drawing any opinions and believing everything you read because there is a lot more to this case. We wouldn't have the luxury of being a dealer for the manufacturers that construct the homes for all of these years if we did business how they are claiming.

I think the "story" of our "ridiculous claims" is outlined at the below website quite succinctly. I'd invite any readers to view the photos and videos before considering signing a contract with Liscott.******************************************************

This customer also brought these unfounded claims in a proceeding before Judge ********************* (***.) who, at the end of a 20-month arbitration, vindicated Liscott and determined that none of Liscotts work was defective. The Judge held that the defects this customer complained of were actually incomplete work caused by this customer preventing Liscott from finishing the project.

This customer chose, against our advice, to use construction loan proceeds for non-construction expenses early on and ran out of funds to complete the project. In addition, this customer prevented Liscott from completing the work, and then tried to claim that the incomplete work was defective. Liscott is a small, authorized dealer of modular homes who has helped over 50 clients with their new homes. It is unfortunate that this individual has gone to extraordinary lengths on this website and others to tarnish Liscotts reputation with these false claims.

Judge ********************* (***.) said it best when, in his order, he said:

Respondent [Liscott Homes] is a reputable company. The Owners, *** and ***, have completed approximately fifty modular homes without receiving any serious complaints, in this case any warranty that the work will be performed in a reasonable workmanlike manner and in conformity with industry standards is not implicated until the contractor has had the opportunity to substantially complete its work, and that Respondent [Liscott Homes] was prevented from doing that work in this case by Claimants [this customer].
