On March 28th We hired **** the owner of XBOC custom Coatings to Coat our counters and paint our cabinets for a total of $4321.50. which was $2,910.75 for the coating for the counters and $1,410.75 for sanding and painting the cabinets. When **** Quoted us it was a countertop coating that has supposed to be smooth fill in all holes and gaps and cover the counter so it was fully protected. The painting was supposed to be to paint the cabinets and cover all gray color and tops and bottoms of cabinets. The coating for counter tops: The counters still have holes that leak out goop and are flaking off the finish **** put down, there are also bubbles, and drips underneath the counters edge. We confronted **** the owner about these issues he was supposed to come out and re coat the counters, put a new layer down to fill the holes and give us a matte finish that he said would fix the current issues, and fix the drip marks under the counter edge. **** the owner refused to come fix the issues , now water is leaking underneath the finish and the counters need to be fully replaced.Painting: **** painted, without properly sanding the cabinets, the paint peeled, **** came out one time to correct the issues and still did not fix the issues, He did not pully paint the cabinets top and bottom included, and paint is still peeling, we offered some suggestions and touched base on 6/13/2024 , **** refused by phone to come fix the issues, me and my wife reached out to **** to fix the issues, June 20th 2024 and no resolution was set up. We ultimately would like a refund but need to file with ***** insurance to make a damage claim by **** the owner of this company because after reaching out to others that could fix the issues, we were quoted anywhere between $15,000 to $20,00 that it would be to fix the issues that **** couldn't fix himself. This would include full counter replacement, and full removal of all cabinets paint all stripped and sanded, and properly painted.

XBOC Custom Coatings went into contract with customer March 28th, 2024, when deposit was received for Metallic epoxy countertop resurface. Total contract amount $2821.50. Deposit of $1410.75 and remaining balance due on completion and approval by customer.

I have attached before and after photos below. **** completed countertops and customer wanted a estimate for refinishing cabinets. From bluish grey to white. Cabinets would need to be sanded and coated multiple times. The agreed amount was $1500.00. XBOC continued to refinish cabinets. Once done the customer was satisfied. They paid the balance of $1410.75 for remaining amount for countertops plus $1500.00 for cabinet refinish. Total of $2910.75.

We then received a call about pits (holes) in the countertop which is very common in metallic epoxy. Once epoxy hardens (within 72 hours) It's completely dry. It will not flake off; it will not fall apart. All we can do it touchup. Keep in mind the small very few pits are seen in the pictures of after. **** went back to see what the customer was referring to and to let him know the options. We warranty all our work and will do what is possible to fix any problems. Also, there was chipping of the paint near handles on the cabinet doors. Which **** also touched up (May 9th). The customer was not happy about the finish on the countertop, so **** offered a topcoat. They agreed. Our schedule was filling up, but we still scheduled for this work to be done. On the day that work was scheduled **** had called to make sure they were home and that he was on the way with another helper. The job is roughly ***** min away. **** had agreed prior to remove all the doors on cabinets and bring them to our shop to do a really good sand to get the paint to adhere correctly. When **** spoke to him that day the customer was under the impression that he was removing the entire cabinets top and bottom. **** had explained that was no way, he is not a trim ********* and that that would just be impossible the cabinets have been in their spot for a very long time, it would not only damage the wall/drywall, but it would be a very large job and costly. The customer than got very upset and told him if he was not going to do that than don't bother coming at all. That was that.

We then received a voicemail with customer apologizing, and he just wanted the work done, that he spoke to his wife, and they were fine with **** just removing the doors and doing touchup. **** offered to do matte finish on countertops. Then **** received text message from customer days later that he was going to dispute this transaction if he didn't hear back from ****. **** had made the decision when the customer yelled at him that that was enough. **** had every intent on fixing any problem that was fixable until customer threatened and yelled at him.

Work was completed and approved. His dispute amount is out of the question. We warranty our work and offer fixing of the issues multiple times. Customer was irate and very difficult to work with.  We have contracts and policies set in place for these reasons. Please photos below. I do have video as well as voicemails and texts from customer.

I am rejecting this response because: We also had direct communication to address our concerns . We had told **** by message and m person that the holes in the counter tops are and were leaking out ooze material and flaking. And also to include drippings off the edge of the counter , that were not addressed in the original quote **** gave us.  We still have holes in the counter and was installed improperly. **** had insured us that doing a matte finish and second coat on the counters would fix all issue and said he would come out to finish the  job . Which he did not.

On the phone conversation on 6-11-2024/ we asked **** to properly finish the paint job as well because **** did not properly sand down the cabinets he painted for us prior to painting the white color over the grey. He also didnt paint the tops and bottoms of the cabinets which I will include pictures of that.

The paint issue is **** did not properly sand the cabinets before painting . In 6-11-24 We asked **** to complete both painting and counters appropriately and **** was very hostile on the phone and threatening, and we felt at the time of the phone call we could not trust him to come over due to his threatening tone we were in fear for our safety . We did call back days later that week  to leave a voicemail after forgiving his threatening tone, and tried to make amends for him to come finish on the issues we asked about . And no contact by him was made since then.

Due to ***** dishonesty in his reply to BBB we cannot trust **** to come back to our house and are asking for a full refund.

The cost it is going to take to fix his mistakes he made are around $15,000 and thats with removal of the mistakes and re - apply of a job done correctly by a different company . We do not want to pursue ***** insurance for the damages and future repairs we just want our money back at this time.

    Sincerely,
