Hired in mid-February for 2 bathroom remodels and replacement of a back porch. They rarely even showed up and when they did they were HOURS off from when they told us... all without any communication. Several nights they were here until 9, 10, even 11 at night. Gaps of weeks, even a month or more with zero communication or any work being done. More often than not while here, most time was spent smoking in our driveway, or holding screaming phone arguments. In one instance, after working for a 1/2 hour, she sat in her car for 7 hours solid before leaving entirely. When I previously informed her I was leaving a review she "warned" me with an accusation that I was having affairs and how uncomfortable it was working in our home. The unprofessionalism and scape-goating is disgusting. They would bring random individuals into our home to help work with no word and barely an introduction, 1 of whom, an adult, made advances on my teenaged son. Ultimately, it has recently come to my attention that regardless of her previously telling me she'd deleted my "account" through square (and several different card numbers I'd used for payment)... I've found multiple unauthorized charges reflecting "The Home Guru, LLC." as recent as June 30 (I fired her in mid-May). In total this business has robbed me of $1,195. Initially, just to be done with her, I hadn't asked for a refund of the considerable incomplete work. At this point, with the theft (which I'm handling through card issuers who have her contact info.) I do demand a refund for incomplete work and to NEVER hear from them again. I am unsure how to provide it, but I have every email correspondence and the entire text history, which I've informed her of. I can forward emails if you reach out with an address to send them. I'd need help on how to forward texts. If my card issuers refund the recent stolen funds im clearly not asking for double refunds there. But this business is dangerous and the local area needs to be aware.

I had used this business for a couple of handyman/electrical jobs earlier in 2023 and was extremely happy with their work and pricing. However, in May 2023, I engaged them to do a project to repair/replace water damaged ceiling drywall and blown-in insulation in a relatively small space in the kitchen. On 5/16/23, Home *********, sent me an electronic estimate of $403.25 to do the work, which I accepted. They sent me a *********** deposit payment request of $201.00 which I paid and processed through my credit card on 5/20/23. After that time, Home Guru has been unresponsive to my outreach via email (phone # I had been using for them no longer worked). My last email to them was to request a refund if they weren't going to schedule and do the work. I've heard nothing since that email in late May 2023. I'm forced to assume they've absconded with my money and don't intend to do the work.
