Thanks to Waynes Towing for loosing the key to my car during a tow I get to pay an extra $850 to have my car rekeyed. I would recommend to anyone take their business elsewhere.

I hope this is what you need to clarify my complaint against Waynes towing. On Sunday, September 3 I used my ******************** to call for a tow after my car broke down. I was instructed by Waynes towing to leave my car key and fob in the car so they could use it to complete their tow. I was not at the scene of the tow when ***** towing arrived due to the fact that I had my one year old son with me and I wanted to get him out of the heat so I had my wife come and pick me up. Waynes towing picked up my car and took it to ******* for it to be fixed. I talked with two different people at Waynes towing and they told me that the car key to my car was left in the overnight dropbox. after speaking with ******* on September 5 they advised me that there was no key found in the dropbox. So they will have to re-key my car which will cost me $850 to be able to start work on my car.

Drop box at ******* is not a secure drop box it is a mail slot in the door. Once my driver puts keys in said mail slot there is no security for that key. I spoke with my driver he stated that he did as instructed and put the key in the mail slot. Wayne's Towing should not be held responsible for dropping keys in an unsecure key drop that is used by the dealership.

I am rejecting this response because:
Waynes towing is still admitting that their driver dropped off the key in the lock box to ******* and they never did. The reason I know this was because two days ago the driver actually walked back in the ******* two weeks after my car being dropped off there and dropped my key off at the front desk to ******* so when they say that it was dropped off the day of my service (the tow) that is a lie. And I am still having to be charged $850 for a re-key because ******* ordered a new key for my car. Waynes towing needs to take accountability.

    Sincerely,

In response to customer saying that they saw my driver drop off the keys at ******** Definitely did not happen. My driver has not been to that location since date in question. Wayne's Towing did our job as instructed. We will not be held responsible for an unsecure key drop. We will no longer be responding to these messages as we performed our job Vehicle was Picked up, delivered, drop at location with keys in Dealerships unsecure key drop.

I am rejecting this response because: I would just like Waynes towing to take accountability for their actions. All Im giving the better business bureau is facts and there is nothing more I can do. Waynes towing had a driver who towed my car and never left the keys in the drop box at ******* and then the Waynes towing driver returned my keys to ******* two weeks after the tow and I get stuck for their unprofessionalism actions.

    Sincerely,

On 9/3 we contacted our insurance to help tow our car to ******* in ******, **. State Farm dispatched Waynes towing to pick up our ******* Elantra and tow it to ******* service center in ******. We were told the keys were dropped off in the drop box at *******. On 9/5 we received a call from ******* stating that the keys to our car were not at the service center. We contacted Waynes towing who said they would get a hold of the driver. Today, on 9/7/23 Waynes towing has not returned our calls or given us an answer to where our car key is. ******* informed ** a new FOB/key would be $850 dollars. We are unable to get a hold of Waynes to come to a solution to this problem. Waynes towing is saying they are not liable for the key expenses-even though it was their responsibility to turn to keys into *******
