I signed my son up for driving school, in person classes and behind the wheel package in March 2023. He attended 1 day in person. I went in early to ask the teacher to not call him by his birth name as that is in process of being changed. The teacher told me he has to use his name. I asked him to please keep it on paper but not to call it out in class. My kid was called out and ridiculed throughout class as a transgender and felt uncomfortable to return. I contacted the main office and they told me their teacher is one of the best they couldnt believe he wouldnt have handled it appropriately and are sure he did. I was at a loss for how to proceeed with management who unwilling to work with me so I let a couple months pass. I decided it is not okay to forfeit $450 and my kids right to an education as a paying customer so returned seeking an option for a refund or to manage his participation with more dignity. I asked if he could finish the 4/5 remaining classes virtually since they offer virtual classes. They told me he would have to start over and retake the first class. I asked if we could get a refund then since he isnt getting credit for what he has completed. They said no to a refund since he completed the 1st class. I asked again since he finished the first class if he could just do the four remaining and they said no. I returned in person to seek someone who might have the ability to work with me and was offered an option for my son to take classes virtually but from class one and again no refund since he received a class. Its incredibly hard to get a manger call back. my son is one month away from being eligible to get his license. He is scheduled for the ********************** lessons today and next week and for his test. I am seeking help to resolve this issue. My preference is to swap to the shorter course. Due to time passed and his age he no longer needs 30 hours and could do 4 hours online with driving. I ask the difference in cost be returned.
