    On 11/18/24 I contacted ***** ****** to install a free standing cast iron gas stove. Hed been recommended by Specialty Appliance in **********. I have called them to suggest they no longer recommend him. He said his charge was $95 to come out to inspect the home to see if this was something he could do and his $95 trip fee would be deducted from the charge for doing the work. He came on 11/29 and agreed to do it and I paid him $95. I said Id notify him when the stove was delivered. In December I noticed an entry on my bank statement for $950. When I notified ***** on 1/9/25 that it was delivered he didnt respond. I texted him again on 1/12 asking why I hadnt heard from him and he replied the same day that hed been busy but was still willing to install it. He never contacted me again until 1/26 asking if I want to get it installed this week. I asked that he call me. I texted him again 1/28 to see if he was coming 1/29 and he agreed to come. He said the cost would be $2077 and I wrote him a check for $1077 which he cashed on 2/3. He agreed to install it on 2/4 but ran into a problem getting the tile to put behind the stove as a heat barrier. He found out from a local fireplace store that it was essential to put tile behind it as long as it was 2 from the wall. He asked to come the next day but i had 2 workmen coming so he proposed 2/10 but never contacted me about arrival time and didnt respond to my text on 2/10 asking when he was coming until 2/11 saying he was waiting for the venting??? On 2/25 when I texted him he said things are back ordered. On 4/1 I expressed concern re no updates and he said still back ordered from manufacturer. On 4/16 my daughter called him and asked him for order # and company name. He said hed get back to her but never did. She called 2 suppliers for the manufacturer who both had venting in stock. She shared this info with him and he said hed call. No reply to 4/19 text for update
