    On March 26, 2024, I hired Larson Tax and ***** *** to assist with resolving my past due tax debt. I initially paid them $5,000, followed by additional payments of $3,000 on December 5, 2024, and $1,000 on March 20, 2025bringing the total amount paid to $9,000.Throughout this time, I was repeatedly told that Larson Tax was in communication with the *** and working on a solution to place me into an installment agreement. However, when I contacted the *** directly in May 2025, I was informed that they had not heard from Larson Tax or any representative on my behalf since January 2025. This means that despite collecting thousands of dollars in fees after that date, Larson Tax was not actively working on my case or providing the services promised.There was no resolution or results provided by Larson Tax at any point. I ultimately had to contact the *** myself to begin resolving the matter on my ownsomething I hired Larson Tax specifically to handle. Their lack of action and misrepresentation of their efforts caused unnecessary stress and delay.I feel misled and taken advantage of. They accepted substantial payments under false pretenses and failed to deliver on their commitments. I am requesting a full refund of the $9,000 paid, as the services I was promised were not provided.

    Were sorry to hear that this customer feels dissatisfied with their experience. At Larson Financial, we take every case seriously and are committed to providing thorough, professional support to help clients resolve complex tax matters.


    In this case, we devoted substantial time and effort to advocating on the clients behalf, including ongoing communications with the ***. The assertion that we have not been in direct contact with the *** since January 2025 is 100% false. As recently as April 25, 2025, we spoke with Revenue Agent ID#**********, and we have sent the client a full transcript of all communication with the *** and all the work done. Numerous other inaccuracies in the complaint do not warrant further response. We had already provided the client with all supporting documentation clearly outlining the work completed on their file, on a monthly basis, as is the policy with all of our clients. As with the **** we place a strong emphasis on honesty and factual accuracy.

    I am rejecting this response because: 
    Larson Tax Relief let me refresh your memory, you knew fully well I was already engaged with TAX RELIEF ADVOCATES as they were much more affordable. They only charged us $595.00 to  get us a resolution with the **** You on the other hand convinced me that they will not get me a reasonable settlement the reason for their affordable rate. You spoke of reducing our taxes by different strategies including statutes of limitations based on the older taxes owed. You give me your word that you will negotiate a settlement which you did absolutely nothing more than hand us over to *****. We received a letter from the *** showing us what is owed, ***** sends us the exact amount owed in a letter. Every letter was a template, and you only change our names. I want justice for our money.

    We received a payment plan from the *** without producing any documents that Larson tax relief requested. Attached is what Larson said they deserve 3500 for.

    As you wrote, our initial fee is a base fee, and this is very clear in our contract, as well as the many specifics for why it could cost more. We explicitly state it is not a flat fee. There are too many variables outside of our control to predict how long a case will take to resolve. Among them is timely receipt of information requested by the **** such as financials when a tax debt exceeds a certain threshold. We cannot be held responsible for a client being unhappy that they did not read the contract, or for the result of a client hindering our ability to satisfy an IRS demand for said required financials. Both Larson and our clients need to play by the **** rules and unnecessary delays cost both us and in the end the client money. We did adhere to our side of the contract and therefore we are unable to meet the demand for a refund.

    I am rejecting the response from Larson Tax Relief because there are inaccuracies in their response which include:  Larson Tax Relief personnel were very aware from the onset of the relationship with us that we had previously filed an Offer in Compromise with the *** that was not accepted. They were also informed from the onset that we had an existing payment plan with the *** and that the penalties from not paying the total owed taxes were contributing to our inability to satisfy our taxes. All of this information was made very clear to them and in detail from the initial intake appointment.  These were some of the very reasons that we were seeking assistance from Larson Tax Relief. 

    When there was little movement with our case in July, we reached out to *** Larson at the end of of the month about our situation and his response was to move our case to a senior case manager (no direct contact from him). So the entire process began anew.  Again, we restate that the only outcome from our investment in the company that Larson Tax Relief has identified as "counseling" was that we were told to focus paying our estimated taxes for 2024 rather than concentrating on clearing our debt from the previous year. There was a discussion about lowering our payment to the installment agreement plan that we had previously set up but that was not accomplished Larson.  And an added payment to them was needed to lower our initial installment plan with the *** that we had previously set up.

    We ended our agreement with Larson because there was little movement during the 6 mos that we had the relationship with the company and we did not feel that paying an added fee would accomplish anything more than we could do ourselves. After setting up a meeting with the *** personnel from our state, we have gleaned more information that will help us in moving ahead with our tax debt.  We are more than 'unsatisfied" as was delineated by their response to our complaint but felt that the company had misrepresented their services to us and what they could do to help us.

For example, we now have paperwork given to us from the *** to file to alleviate our accrued penalties and that it was possible given our circumstances to get some money back from penalties. Larson personnel indicated that it would be extremely difficult for us to do and owed penalties remained on our tax bill.*We have attempted to reach out to *** Larson (attached 2 letters and a phone call) to discuss our situation. No response from owner other than to receive a form letter of apology on 11/8/24.*We feel that the company promise was false advertising of services as we should not have been accepted as clients given our financial profile. I have now spent hours on the phone with the *** to address owed money for both years and time off to attend an appointment in the *** office. *resolution requested: return of $2800 fee

    This complaint is missing some context with some unusual filing history changes and joint and several liability complications. High income or owning a home has nothing to do with our ability to assist a client. In fact, a substantial number of our clients are in high income brackets with homes. This situation required additional work, and therefore additional fees, because we were not initially informed of the agreement the client had created by dealing with the *** independently before seeking our assistance.


    When we began working on the case, there was an existing unfavorable payment plan already established with the ***. In order to proceed with the appropriate resolution strategy for the situation, it would have been necessary for us to address and undo the previous arrangement before implementing a new, more advantageous plan based on the unique circumstances. We offered to do this additional work but the client declined.


    Regarding the non-refund, which has never been asked for nor offered by us, the majority of our time and fees were dedicated to counseling the client on the best practices and basics of maintaining compliance with the **** as well as, how they got themselves into this complicated situation.


    We do regret that this client was unsatisfied with the outcome of this unique circumstance. In our 20 years, we have always striven to satisfy our clients with a tailored resolution.

    I enlisted the help of Larson Tax relief at the end of the year in 2021. I paid them nearly $8,000.00 they spend over a year and did absolutely nothing to help my tax situation. They put junior people on my account after selling me with an experienced, knowledgable sales person whom I never heard from again after I signed the contract.

    We completely reject ******************** claim that we only put low level people on his case as he was represented by Enrolled Agents in his entire time at Larson Financial, and it is standard practice that a Client will not hear back from the sales person once the client is turned over to our Client ******************* unless a meeting is specifically requested, and I am unaware of any such request.

     

    I have looked into the details of Mr. ************************* I have reached out to him via. two voicemails as well as two emails to discuss the limits of our representation given the information he has provided us,  and I have heard nothing back.

    I am rejecting this response because: I called and was not able to speak with Mr. ****************************** So, I left a voicemail in his voicemail box to return my call. Ironically Mr. ********************** was did not answer the call but made it appear he was interested in hearing from other party. When Mr. ********************** is ready to discuss this matter to get closure I look to get a resolution as well.

    In response, reconciliation at this time, I find that it is a trend of poor unprofessional mannerism at the Larson Tax Relief after speaking with Mr. *** ********************** who in his response addressed me as "that person." Poor taste of leadership and business practice and I spoke directly with Mr. ********************** at the Larson Tax Relief. At this time, I consider this closed.
