I live in subsidized housing. Every year I am eligible for the renters rebate program. I am missing two months for the year 2024 from the previous apartment complex I resided at called ******** *******. I sent an email to the manager who has been there since the building opened and knows me very well. I requested the rent receipts for the months of January and February and did not receive them. Instead of sending the receipts, she sent me a document that was very damning. These documents are essential to my receiving my benefits. I will need your help obtaining these documents since she is not willing to comply. Thank you for your help.

      Business Response

      Date: 06/18/2025

Dear BBB- Thank you for giving us the opportunity to respond to this complaint.  **** **** contacted the Property Manager for ******** ******* in May and requested a statement from the months of 2024 (January and February) when she still resided in our facility to use for her to apply to renters rebate.  **** **** was immediately sent over the same ledger that is printed from our records system that is printed for each and every resident each year for renters rebate.  This statement reflects all charges and payments made towards the residents account for each year.  **** **** was not happy with what was reflected on that statement, because it showed damage charges which were placed on her account prior to moving out.  The renters rebate program is only interested in rent charges and payments against those charges, and frankly would ignore any other charges that were incurred against her account.  **** **** demanded that I send something different or remove those charges which we do not have the ability to do in our computer program.  This was explained to her.  A few days later the administrator with the Town of Stonington called me and we spoke about this situation, and I asked if I could email her a written confirmation of what the rent was for those months and that they were paid in full.  She accepted that response and our understanding is that **** **** was all set with her request for renters rebate to be filled for.  The property manager went above and beyond what is normally done, for a request for a printout of a resident's ledger.  We hope that **** **** can be satisfied with the result of being qualified for renters rebate in her new town of occupancy.

We would like the BBB to be aware that in the 5+ years that **** **** lived in our building, she was engaged in extreme behavior situations that required police intervention.  Threatening management, other residents, and creating an unfavorable living conditions to all of the residents who lived around her.  She was notified of eviction proceedings prior to her moving out for theft and damage created on our property and instead of going to court she decided to move on her own.  The property manager continues to receive, emails and messages from **** **** that are extremely unpleasant and at times threatening.  Now that she has been going for more than 1.5 years we are hoping that she will put all of this behind her and move on.  Thank you for listening to this addition information.  We certainly do not want our reputation tainted over someone who cannot comprehend factual information or factual situations.
