    Star Mountain Kennel is an outstanding breeder and kennel. From your first contact they offer a complete picture of what you can expect and what they are looking for in placing their puppies. During the months prior to getting our girl, Margaret provided updates on her progress and pictures. We felt we knew Molly before we met her. She was well socialized and trained to be familiar with the onboard travel crate we used to bring her home. In the past 7 years, the Boistures have been available for questions and advice. Great breed, easily trained, funny and loving.

    Margaret brought my wonderful Juca into this world. He’s a wire haired Podengo. He’s super intelligent, an alpha if there ever was one, very playful and full of energy. I couldn’t ask for a better buddy.

    One of the best breeders you will ever find. Absolutely professional at a level we rarely see in this business. I have two dogs from Star Mountain Kennel and also have recommended several others to Margaret. I wish I could give 10 Stars!

    Bought my lovely Greta " wire Podengo Pequeno from Maragret & Bruce... She is the very best addition to our family , just the smartest most fun little dog you could ask for.

    Our Star Mountain Podengo is an amazing happy and healthy dog. He has been a wonderful addition to our family. He loves to cuddle with young and old. He is easily trainable and is happiest with his people. Margaret is a first class breeder. She is wonderfully responsive to messages and supportive of her puppies. She has been kind and helpful to my kids helping them grow and learn with the dog. I would not hesitate to add another star Mountain dog to our house or recommend her to my friends.

    Deciding to go with smooth podengos Margaret wanted to find a home for a wire that did not fit into her breeding program. We had a friend in common who assured her he would have a good home with me. Although she could have put him up for sale she chose to give him to me after an interview. In addition to meeting at her home for the interview , we met at a dog show so I could spend some time with him. She assured me that I could bring him back to her if I didn’t feel he was working out. He has a wonderful temperament and is the mascot for our local Disabled American Vetersns Chapter. The Veterans enjoy him and he has never met a “stranger” he didn’t like.

    I couldn’t recommend more highly star mountain kennels. I have known them for well over 10 years and received my first puppy from them. Because of star mountains regard for health well-being of their pups I can now say that I have been a co-breeder with star Mountain For years. I recommend them highly to all people that I speak to regarding Portuguese Podengo Pequenos!
