I thought all this was taken care of with the package from *****, when you get on their website they tell you what's all entailed in the package and it's everything to get this thing to run. I told him I didn't have one and they told me they could sell me one and I said okay so they sold me one they told me it could be tuned it was a e38 ECU so I don't know what none of that stuff means. when I got it and scanned it it said it was for a 2010 *** ***** 5.3 liter. i called wiring specialties back and asked if this was correct and they were saying well you got to get it tuned. Fast forward almost a year later and I'm trying to get it tuned so I can see if I can get my car running. I'm getting a remote tune from a company they had me buy some software a wide band gauge and the tune for the sum of almost $1,200. They wanted a rundown of everything that the engine had as far as internals fuel injectors bore size headstroke all that good stuff and a base file for the ECU which the software I bought from them I was able to copy it and send it to them. They emailed me about a day later saying that it would be easier if they could convert it to a 2010 ********* ****** manual ECU and wondered if my harness was made for that and I told him yes it was I didn't know if it was or not. They emailed me again wanting to know the service number on the back of the ECU. So they're saying they can't flash that ECU with that operating system because it's locked and that I need to contact wiring specialties. I called wire specialties and they said they did have an ECU that had that operating system on it and that I could buy it for almost $400 and I said can I trade my current one in for it and they told me no because I've had it too long I haven't even driven this car yet they want another $400 I think that they should swap it out. I have spent over $40,000 on this car and I need it to run. Why I didn't get sent one for my engine I'll never know
