6/10/2024 on Monday approximately around 3:30 pm I’m washing my clothes at best laundromat ********** *********** as well as dry not the first time I’ve done laundry at this location. I’m done washing go to dry my clothes the card say declined on outside of location window it says free dry wash must be done on premises. I go get the women who’s a worker im saying to her my card is saying declined so she says well you are using more then one dryer with such bad attitude I said well it shouldn’t matter how many dryers I’m using it says free drying she say you need to pay an walks awayBusiness Response

I personally spoke to the customer and apologized for the attitude of our staff and clarified our drying policy. We have updated our signage to make it clearer going forward. We provided a credit of $20 to the customer and I believe this was satisfactory.

I am visiting my mother and am about to depart in my trailer so I went to launder ALL of my blankets, sheets and comforters. I washed them all and divided them into two dryers for drying. I put 8 quarters into each dryer which was 20 minutes. After 15 minutes I checked a dryer to see if I should add more quarters and the bedding was melted!! I immediately took the clothes out and dumped them on the floor because they were so hot I could not handle them. I stopped the other dryer and the clothes were melted in there also, though not quite as badly. Obviously there is a severe problem with the heat in the dryers. Unfortunately for me, the woman attendant would take no responsibility for the damage. She just laughed and said "too bad, only put in 4 quarters" and laughed again and asked me if I was stupid and said if I had a problem to call the cops and laughed at what she thought was a very funny situation. I asked her to show me the signs where it said to NOT put in more than 4 quarters. She said there are not signs but people just know not to put in more than 4 quarters, then laughed again and said I must be stupid. I told her I have been to many laundry mats and never had that happen so it is not me who is stupid. I then asked her who owned the business. She, once again, laughed at me and said they live in ************* and that was all she was going to tell me. I said that I was not going to let it go, I would file a formal complaint and the owners would be notified about the laundry and about her. She laughed, again, and said that they wouldn't care anyway. I then took a picture of her and left the building.
I have many pictures of my bedding if you want to see the damage. I estimate the cost of replacing everything at about 400.00. The woman should be fired! The fire marshal should be called too!! I can not tell you how dangerously hot the dryers are there! If that business does not remedy this I am going to call the fire marshal.

The facts in the case as stated by the customer are not accurate. By her own admission, the customer added 8 quarters per dryer. However, each quarter adds 7 minutes so the total drying time was 56 minutes, not 20. Each quarter is recorded on an LED readout for the customer to see. According to our attendant and a regular customer she then left the store. She was gone much longer than 15 minutes. Upon her return, the items were in fact damaged. When she confronted our attendant, she was told to leave the damaged items and her phone number and the manager would contact her. She refused and demanded $200 dollars and was told that the manager would have to handle this as she could not. It was at this point that the customer called the attendant “stupid” and that she should learn to speak better English.
I called Ms. ***** and was told by her mother that she was traveling and could not be reached. I explained to her mother that 56 minutes was too long because most comforters have a care label stating tumble dry low or medium. I suspect the dryers were on high. The dryers were checked and no maintenance issues were necessary. I explained to the mother that this was not our fault but for the sake of customer relations I would give her $200 dollars to settle this matter. The mother stated she would pass along this information to her daughter Ms. ***** and to date I have received no return call.

I am rejecting this response because: THE OWNER IS NOW CALLING ME RACIST! I WILL HAVE YOU KNOW I AM BI-LINGUAL! YOU ARE NOT GOING TO DEFAME MY CHARACTER TOO! YOU CAN TELL YOUR EMPLOYEE TO PUT THAT CARD AWAY. HOW DARE YOU!! YOU CHECK YOUR CAMERAS AND YOU WILL FIND THE ONLY ONE LYING IS YOUR EMPLOYEE. I NEVER LEFT THE BUILDING AND THE MACHINE WAS ONLY GOING FOR 15 MINUTES..... CHECK YOUR CAMERAS SIR. I DID PUT IN 8 QUARTERS BUT THE ONE MACHINE ONLY GAVE ME 21 MINUTES AND THE OTHER GAVE ME THE FULL TIME, HENCE WHY I HAD TO STOP IT. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME I HAVE WASHED/DRIED MY BEDDING. I KNOW HOW LONG IT TAKES TO DRY THEM. I DID NOT THROW AWAY MY EVIDENCE FOR COURT, IN CASE I NEED TO TAKE YOU AND YOUR LYING EMPLOYEE THERE. I SIMPLY CAN GO TO A WORKING LAUNDRY MAT AND WASH/DRY THE BEDDING WHILE RECORDING IT! DID YOU NOT THINK OF THIS?? ALSO, YOUR STAR WITNESS WAS SITTING NEXT TO THE BATHROOMS WITH THE TV BLARING AND ON HER PHONE. I WAS BEING BERATED BY YOUR EMPLOYEE IN THE OFFICE AND NEXT TO IT SO THE LADY WAS NOT EVEN IN THE VACINITY. LOOK AT YOUR CAMERAS! MY WITNESS WILL BACK UP THE TRUTH!
