John S. is 100% right abo*t the way Jeff C*** r*ns the CT hockey league. This is the most poorly run amate*r sports league ever and I would like to add my experience. John S is correct that the league owner, Mr. C*** stacks is own teams full of highly skilled players while not allowing other teams to have players of any decent level of talent. He stacks his teams to guarantee that Mr. C*** will win league championships. My personal experience is also very negative. Mr. C*** suspended me during the winter/spring 2024 season claiming that I was fighting. In reality, a player on the opposing team tackled me and then began punching me in the back of the head. Therefore, I got punished for getting beat up on the ice. I should have been able to show video evidence of this b*t Mr. C*** blocked the CT hockey league games from being shown on the  web site. All rinks where the CHL plays in the towns of Newington, Cromwell, and Northford all get paid by L*** B*** so show all arena activity live on their website along with archiving past videos. However, Mr. C*** blocks CHL content from this site which means these three rinks are in violation of their contract with L*** B***. If I had video, I woild have been able to demonstrate that I was the clear victim of an attack by an opposing player. In addition, Mr. C*** does not instruct the referees to enforce the rules of his own league. This creates a dangerous environment to play in as many players are empowered to play dirty and try to inj*re opposing players. There is no disciplinary action taken against players who engage in these tactics making injuries and fighting a regular part of the games in all of M. C*** leagues.

Mr. C*** who is the owner of the Connecticut Hockey League is threatening to file a SLAPP suit against me for creating a ****** group where people can express their concerns over his illegal, corrupt, discriminatory, and unethical business practices in this league.
Thank you for expressing your concerns over statements ***** posted on social media regarding Mr. C*** and his hockey league the Connecticut Hockey League (CHL). We are very amused by your SLAPP suit threats against ******. You will never get an apology from ****** and these comments will never be taken down and we will explain why.
The state Connecticut has anti-SLAPP laws (Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation) which protects freedom of speech and freedom of the press against meritless law suits designed to prevent the spreading of negative information about an individual or business. If Mr. C*** moves forward with a law suit against ****, we will respond with an anti-SLAPP motion which would require Mr. C*** to pay all of ****’s legal fees plus punitive damages. In addition, any law firm knowingly representing a client who is filing a SLAPP suit may also be subject to punitive damages and possible disbarment.
This is a meritless suit based on the clear conditions that must be met to prove defamation. This case against **** comes nowhere near these conditions. First, the plaintiff must prove the defendant knowingly lied and acted with malice when posting the statement in question. After several incidents that occurred in 2016, when **** was paying in the CHL, Mr. Cu** took actions against **** that were discriminatory, unethical, and illegal. These actions will be shared later in this report. Therefore, **** has proof that the social media posts were truthful. In addition, comments like “wannabe mob boss” and “discriminatory, unethical, and illegal” are opinions, not fact, which is protected speech.
The second threshold Mr. C*** must prove that his business suffered a financial loss.
