Green Home Solutions was asked by my real estate agent to do an estimate on some mold removal for my house. Some guy named Dave showed up he instantly starting looking around and doing an estimate he did not specify if the estimate was going to cost money or anything just started doing his thing. When I asked about what caused the mold he said he that's not his job he is just here to see how much it would be to clean up, the whole time he was rude and seemed almost annoyed that we watched him do the estimate. At the end he said "I charge $125 per hour but if you chose us I won't charge you. This seemed like a very scammy tactic, in the invoice they said they did an air quality inspection (with what tools) he had nothing but a flashlight on him. I personally feel like I got scammed by this company they should notify potential customers of estimate prices prior to the appointment not afterwards.

Customer buying a single Family home with mold growth on the lower wall of the garage. GHS was called to inspect to determine if the complaint area extended into the home and to provide a scope of work and cost for a real estate closing. The refrigerator line is leaking allowing water to drip into the area of the staining. There was also a stain on the ceiling which appears to be from high relative humidity. An inspection was conducted on the attic and there was an area of staining likely from an roof event which allowed water to penetrate that area of the attic. Remediation is recommended in the garage by a certified mold remediation company and repaired to ********* Standards. Failure to remediate properly without containment and air manipulation can result in cross contamination and the return of future mold growth. Inspector agreed to waive assessment costs of $125 if customer were to complete the work with Green Home Solutions.
The customer was aware of the inspection fee prior to receiving the proposal and report needed for his closing which needed to be provided by a board certified inspector. There was no testing charge on the invoice like the customer claims.  I enjoy my work and I was eager to help this young couple get there home. Knowing a big report or testing was not needed, (which could cost up to $800 on a home like this) I only charged a minimal $125 to help them.  Unfortunately our services are not free. Customer had my cell phone number and had the ability to ask questions or discuss the inspection fee or report provided. The customer also accepted the proposal.  Not sure where the miscommunication was.  Because we provided a service and the customer accepted the report used to likely get a $1850 credit off of his home for mold remediation work, we will not be able to refund the minimal $125 charge. David
