I have leased and purchased 5 previous cars from Honda of Danbury Ct. I had them order me a 2023 accord I had the paperwork with my options of payment with different amounts down. They were aware I always choose the option of zero down. When the car finally came in they said oh wait those numbers were all with $6000 down. Meaning the paper that said 0,$2000 or $3000 was really 6,8or 9 thousand I have all paperwork and email to show proof absolutely disgusting bait and switch. They should be shut down I’ve never seen anything like this. Don’t know what happened to this dealership they used to be great.

The information provided by the customer is not accurate. The customer had a leased 2020 Honda Insight EX which had $6000 in positive equity at the time it was appraised. This money was to be used as the down payment money for the 2022 Accord 2.0T. So in reality the customer was not putting any money out of his own pocket. The customer was very well aware of this from the beginning. He was simply using his trade equity to get to an affordable payment on the Accord. When the Accord arrived at the dealership, the customer informed us that he was going to go to a *** dealership instead because he felt he could get a better car and payment from *** and no longer wanted the Accord. Approximately two weeks later, the customer emailed us asking if we would still honor the previous appraised value for his Honda Insight and cut him a check for the $6000 in equity. At this time he no longer wanted to purchase the Honda Accord. He simply wanted us to buy his Leased Honda Insight as an off street purchase and give him a check for the equity.

That is an absolute lie the trade was always a separate deal this dealership is doing everything to cover their butt. I have all the paperwork to show. And yes one of the options was to do a trade in however that’s not what I was doing and my salesman knew that. I was doing 2 transactions one a lease with nothing down and a trade in where they were writing me a check. They keep trying to spin this and I wish I could upload paperwork to show everything I’m saying is 100% accurate. I never said I’m going to *** until I was at the dealer to pickup my car when they tried to bait and switch me. And the only reason I said that is because the day before we got my daughter a car and Honda was trying to charge me more for an accord then a 3 or 4 series bmw which is a 100x better car.
