Hi! We’ve been trying to contact the contractor, but he has not responded. Hoping this will help! All we are asking of a for him to complete the job. We have sent pictures, lists of thing to complete, and he has not responded for over 6 months. Here is the list of things he needs to complete:
    :
    1. Electrical wires sticking out in 2 places (I’ll show pictures). This is dangerous and scary!
    2. Two small Sinks in the white bathroom are slowly leaning more and more away from the the wall. They need to be secured better.
    3. Toilet paper attached to wall in green bathroom
    4. Switch plate in white bathroom looks really bad (I’ll show pics)and needs to be replaced. It is not up to standards.
    5. Paint over patched ceiling in main bedroom
    6. Siding on outside of the how needs replacing
    7. Pipes Under the sinks in white bathroom are unfinished —there’s a mix of plastic and metal pipes
    8. Behind the clawfoot tub needs to be sealed—THIS IS a priority. They’re water leaking into our laundry room.
    9. Door to en-suite bathroom doesn’t shut
    10. All Tiles in kitchen need to be replaced, due to installation errors.

    Please finish the job!

    Business Response

    Date: 10/20/2023

We unfortunately do have jobs that occasionally end with no possible way to make homeowners happy. This particular job we spent countless trips back to install , reinstall mainly plumbing part that were ordered and misordered by the customer.

It probably cost me many more thousand in labor and sub invoices than were allotted for this job.

To the point that none of the subs wanted to return to this project.

We will make one last attempt to return to the job and satisfy the customer.

Many items are out of our control.

For example the tile floor in kitchen was installed properly , it was cheap tile and the company has had many issues with it. Not on us.

The switch plate was discussed at time of install , more then once.

The plumbing parts are still not there for anyone to change , we didn't order them , they did .

Things like that sound like ** , but its simply the way this project went.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

I will walk through each of his points:

    1. "We unfortunately do have jobs that occasionally end with no possible way to make homeowners happy." There is a way to make us happy: Finish the job :)  We paid the contractor a total of $84,000 in labor. Seal the area around the tub, so there's not a leak into the laundry room. Fix the exposed electrical wire. At a bare minimum, these two jobs need to be completed. He has still not provided a date to do this.

    2. "This particular job we spent countless trips back to install, reinstall mainly plumbing part that were ordered and misordered by the customer." The contractor gave us a list of products I needed to buy for the project. I provided him with all the parts I bought, with links, to confirm I was buying the right things. I do not know what would work, so I made sure I was buying everything they was correct. He confirmed I was buying the right things. It wasn't until the plumber showed up that we were told it wasn't correct. Contractor continues to not take any responsibility for these mistakes.

    3. "It probably cost me many more thousand in labor and sub invoices than were allotted for this job." This is the first time I'm hearing about this. Again, we paid him $84,000.

    4. "To the point that none of the subs wanted to return to this project." This is the first time I'm hearing about this. The contractor told me the electrician who worked on the job had cancer and was hospitalized for months, and that's why he hasn't returned. He shared that he has since fired the plumber who worked on the job. Again, the contractor continues to not take responsibility.

    5. "We will make one last attempt to return to the job and satisfy the customer." The contractor has still not provided me with a date to complete the job. The last time he contacted me was Oct.5, 2023. It's currently October 20, 2021. Looking forward to closing this out. ,
