    I took my 2 and 3 year old grandkids to Nutmeg Bowling in ********** *********** yesterday. It was their very first bowling experience. Everything was going well until midway into the visit a female employee came over to our lane and spoke directly to my 3 year old granddaughter and basically said her voice was piercing. I asked her why have a program for kids and not allow the kids to enjoy themselves. She didn't answer she just walked away. There was no one else at the bowling alley except my family and the additional employees.

    Regarding your letter of June 28thand the fact that there were multiple notifications prior to this letter, I have this to say...

    My office Mgr. disregarded the original e-mails because she thought it was spam. She has been with me for 34 years and she had never seen such an e-mail.

    Secondly, this family was taking advantage of a free program which we run every summer to help keep kids off the streets and expose them to the lifetime sport of bowling.

    Thirdly, four people arrived at our facility...the Grandmother, Mother, and two children. When they were told that the children had to wear bowling shoes, which we rent at a discount,

    the eldest woman told us that we don't have shoes small enough for the smallest child (which we do) and she said she was told that the eldest child didn't have to pay for her shoes, I'm not sure where she got that idea. So rather than argue we gave her a lane and did not charge them for the shoe rental. After they started bowling the two girls started screeching in a very high pitched manner...contrary to the complaint there were other customers on premises, many of them elderly. After some time my attendant went to their lane and very nicely asked the children if they could try a different way to celebrate or cheer. The eldest woman said that this is a kid friendly place and that the children should be allowed to make noise and that they were always that loud. That being said...We are a kid friendly place, we've been doing it for 40 years without getting a complaint. As a matter of fact we are all parents and grandparents who love children and pride ourselves on our treatment of them. We are one big Family here at Nutmeg Bowl, we do let the children have fun and get excited until it becomes disruptive to others enjoyment of our facility.

    In summary, I believe this complaint is unwarranted
