    Colonial Fene Company was recommended to me by the former owner of the land on which my home was built in 1983. Colonial Fence Company has built all of the fencing on my property; and, I have been very pleased with the quality of their work and their ingenuity in handling typical complexities such as limited space. Last October the most recent installation, done in 2015, was cut down by the new owner of the adjacent property who objected to a natural wood fence dividing the properties and wanted to completely replace it with a white vinyl "privacy fence" which would accent their having painted the former brick and clapboard ranch house completely white including the red brick facade on the front wall and the chimney. Without warning they carried out complete destruction of the existing wood fence with chain saws. After a phone call to Colonial, Bill M******l, came right out and assessed the requirements for replacement and scheduled a crew that had it installed within by the end of the next day in addition to replacing a post on a rear section of the same overall fence. In order to recover in court the damages from the new "neighbor" destroying my fence, I have been repeatedly told that I need the invoice for the fence that was destroyed. Having been 7-8 years, I was unable to locate my copy of the invoice and very much need a duplicate including the details of the fencing installed. As the court date for trial of my small claims suit is imminent, there is some urgency to resolving this unavoidable issue.

    Dear BBB,

     

    I entered into this because I was told it would not be handled as a “standard complaint.”  Bill M******l is a friend of mine and I don’t want to see him handled with the usual BBB bureaucratic methods.

     

    I’ve spoken to Bill and he offered to write out an invoice form with the wording I need.  At his request I gave him the wording needed and will close the loop with him within this week.

     

    Please remove the complaint I gave you at your direction.  if you need this, the matter has been successfully resolved.
