My advice is simple. I would avoid contacting this company at all costs. The first red flag is a business that asks for full payment before providing any service. I was helping my 94 year old mother who's house experienced a sky light leak in a room causing some mold. When they arrived and asked for full payment before performing any mold inspection and testing I told them that wasn't going to happen. If they wanted to do the testing and send my mother the results she would send them a check. I was meeting with multiple roofers and carpenters throughtout the day to get the leak and cleanup quotes. Some of which were there when the Envirocheck employee arrived. He asked to see the room and after like 5 minutes said he needed to go outside. In all he was there no more then 15-20 minutes. The roofer and carpenter that were hired were excellent. Both requested payment when their work was done and in the roofers case waiting 4 days until the next heavy rain proving there was no more leaking. The repairs were completed in a matter of 2-3 weeks. What has transpired over more then a year is Envirocheck requesting full payment but having never sent any mold essentment to my mother. I was recently contacted by their attorney and in my reply I told her, they're very good at requesting payment for a service they never provided. So now 14-15 months later I get an email from the attorney with a link. I didn't even click on it. I told the attorney enough is enough. Pick a date and time and we'll see you in court. Can't wait to hear what a judge thinks of Envirocheck's policies and conduct.

Envirocheck came to my house on 1/29/24 to do a mold assessment. The technician took several air samples along with doing visual inspection and using a moisture meter. When I received the results, the kitchen/living room air sample came back extremely high while down the hall was similar to the control value. I questioned the accuracy of this result and asked if there could be false positives or possibility of contamination which they assured me this is accurate. I also asked that Envirocheck come back to retest the area, which they denied.

I consulted a doctor and was advised to leave our home, get bloodwork done, and start a detox. My kids left all their toys and books. We only took a handful of clothes.

I hired a mitigator for an estimate. I also, hired a licensed mold assessor who repeated testing and results came back "not elevated." In addition to this, the only questionable area was assessed- wood under the sink was removed, dishwasher removed and no moisture or mold was found in either area. Also, the mold workup in the bloodwork revealed that there were no antibodies present, therefore indicating that I was not exposed to mold. All of these indicators leads me to believe the initial test preformed was inaccurate. Perhaps it was a lab error or a contaminated cartridge? Either way the results were inaccurate, which caused needless concern, follow up, and expenses for me.

I wrote to Envirocheck detailing my concerns and requested a full refund and was denied.

Sara hired Envirocheck to perform a mold assessment at her home. During this assessment we did find an elevated presence of mold in the air in her kitchen. Our written report included recommendations for limited exploration in the kitchen (removal of cabinet sink kick plate and removal of the base of the kitchen sink) to be performed with precaution by a licensed mold remediation company. We wanted to rule out a hidden presence of mold within her kitchen cabinetry. We recommended she call us back when this work was done.
These recommendations were reasonable based on Sara’s description of the history of water / moisture in the kitchen, the visual appearance of cabinetry and the laboratory findings (both our state licensed technician and management discussed these recommendations with her at length). Furthermore, we thought it would be better to carry out the recommendations before spending more money on testing services.
Sara reportedly carried out the recommendations and reportedly hired another environmental company to perform testing. Based on her and/or their opinion, the source of a mold problem was reportedly not found.
We offered no assurances the recommendations would lead to the discovery of the or any mold source. We know they may possibly exist elsewhere. Envirocheck did not recommend Sara completely gut her kitchen nor do we get paid for that service. We recommended Sara call us after the exploratory to report what was found. Instead, we received an email from her requesting a full refund. We responded by explaining we did nothing wrong to warrant a full refund and we offered to discuss it further. Sara responded again insisting on a full refund and that she would be consulting with an attorney.
We always do our best to explain to our clients the limitations of mold assessments. Sara assumes that our laboratory findings are inaccurate. We don’t. If you are to assume this then you could also assume the laboratory findings of her second opinion are inaccurate also, no?
An experienced environmental company will base recommendations on laboratory findings as well as other relevant information. We document all in our report. We don’t release our reports unless we feel we can defend our conclusions and recommendations in the court of law, if necessary.
We hoped we could have discussed Sara’s concerns more amicably. After her threatening legal action against our company that is no longer possible.

I DO assume your air sample was inaccurate based on many factors (not just the repeat analysis):
    1. Retest performed by Licensed mold assessor.
    2. Physical Observation of "questionable" area after items were removed.
    3. Blood work ordered by physician including a mold work up was negative for antibodies. Meaning that I was not exposed to mold.
A hired mold mitigator gave me an estimate of $22,000 to cover the mold recommendations in the Envirocheck report. Before going through with this, I wanted what was natural, confirmation of presence of mold. When I requested a repeat analysis ( which I would have no problem paying for), you told me there was no chance of a false positive and reminded me it was a long drive for your technician to come to my area.
I am disappointed with how this turned out. It caused a lot of stress and money for my family. I advise others to be careful with this company. Having worked in laboratories before, I know that on rare occasions specimens can be contaminated resulting in inaccurate results. Envirocheck should take responsibility of this unintended inaccurate result.
