    I scheduled a visit for an ear cleaning as I believed it could help with my ongoing ear pain. I went to the appointment andtold the doctor, who I’ve seen before and knew of my past ear pain history, that I was hoping the ear cleaning would solve my problems. The ear cleaning was performed in which the doctor said there was really nothing to clean and she said she’d send in a prescription for ear drops into the pharmacy for me. After the visit, I received the bill which not only included the $150 cleaning fee, but a $200 charge with the description of (office EST PT LEVEL 3). which I was told was because I was prescribed medicine and is a different billing code. I am not well versed in health insurance but it seems very unfair and sneaky to throw such a high charge because the doctor sent in a prescription for ear drops. I could maybe kind of understand it if an evaluation of some sort was performed but it was literally just her telling me she would send the script in for me.
