    This complaint is regarding the blatant theft of $116 dollars for candle making services from Penthouse Pour. The business is operated by Melissa V***** and is located at ** ***** ***** ********* ** *****. I learned about the newly opened ****** owned business via a segment on *** ** News broadcast in June 2023. In support of a minority business, I decided to purchase two tickets for a candle making class. The class was scheduled for 7/30 at 12noon One hour prior to the event, Mr. V***** cancelled the class via text citing an emergency with her daughter. With much care and consideration, I agreed to reschedule the class for 8/11/23 at 12 noon. Upon arrival to the business the doors were locked, and all lights were off. I called Ms. V***** and sent a text message regarding the no show status. I did not receive a reply regarding her no call/no show for the event.


    Over the past several months, I’ve been working with *** **** to rectify the situation, but the ticketing company ************** provided inaccurate information. The booking site simply accepts payment but does not have any knowledge if the class was held or not. The booking company does not manage customer disputes. I spoke with Alex @ ###-###-####, and he confirmed that the company does not handle customer disputes. I was advised to contact the vendor directly.
    I’ve emailed Ms. V***** several times and have yet to receive my refund. I’ve included a copy of the emails for your review and understanding. This theft of services and her disregard to my time and money is beyond unacceptable. I’m reaching out for your review and assistance with rectifying this injustice. The ******** community needs to be aware of your deceptive business practices and protections put in place to prevent anyone else from this abuse.

    I'm pleased to report that Ms. V***** refunded my $116 for the candle making class that did not take place. I made numerous complaints about her business actions to various services in ********.  The action of the BBB was the response that was needed after months of no action on her part. 

     

    I will contact the banking commission to report the poor management of *** ****. I will be terminating my relationship with *** **** within the next few weeks. Your input was the essential component needed for this resolution.. I have no plans to ever connect or respond to Ms V***** again. Please make this complaint available. to other consumers to avoid another incident of merchant scamming behavior I've attached her email for confirmation.
