This facility is listed as a (hotel) yet they have more long term tenants than short term guests. I spoke with two different people who both told me they have been living there for two years! The facility is old, outdated and in dire need of upgrading! The room furnishings are old and worn out and look like they’re from the late 1980s. The buildings smell musty and moldy, they have no less than 7 feral cats that roam the property and harrass guests to the point of climbing their cars. The exterior is not much better, but the grounds themself were slightly better than the rest of the facility. There never seems to be anybody in the office on a regular schedule. There is a drastic lack of parking, and a long walk to one of the buildings with no protection from inclement weather. The hotel lacks any modern or useful amenities. Two pools which neither are functional, s vending machine with out of date snacks that are overpriced and the machine itself is only accepting coins. The WiFi was spotty at best, and people coming in and out all hours of the day and night I’m assuming to go out and smoke. And finally the facility is in NO way ADA compliant! This place could be a gold mine if the owners actually took pride in ownership and valued the guests or should I say tenants. STAY AWAY I guess would sum up this review

Hi there **** sorry to hear you did not enjoy your stay at Grand Lake Hotel. to address some of your concerns and statements ill start with this. The Facility is indeed on the older side and unfortunately the place was abandoned for quite some time before it was purchased and refurbished. we also tried to keep the retro style of the hotel due to many guests enjoying it so we purchased furnishings that fit the style. Although I'm not sure what you were smelling as we clean the facility daily. as for the cats they are not "feral" they are actually taken care off by facility staff and are collard with our info. we are sorry you couldn't enjoy them as they are very friendly and socialized, many guests and kids love them and we have gotten multiple positive reviews mentioning them positively, unfortunately you are an outlier. we take good care of the exterior and landscape often. parking lot space is an issue we have tried to get solved, multiple times but the town often ties our hands with permitting requirements. as i stated before the property is being refurbished so the pools aren't currently functional but that is one of our goals! we are actually opening a restaurant on property, so work is being done! as for the Wi-Fi issue i recall you had quite an old desktop computer that couldn't connect to the internet and you stated yourself that your phone and tv connected just fine and we even tested it outside your door and had a perfect signal. as for guests going in and out at all hours of the night, you are not the only person there and should remember it's a hotel so there will be thoroughfare according to each of the guest's individual needs so i am perplexed why you felt the need to mention that. The Facility is indeed not ADA compliant and that is mentioned on our website as well so please feel free to confirm that at your leisure. as for the walk to the building, we had you in the closest one to the parking lot which is less than a 30 second walk to the room you were staying in and there was no poor weather during your stay so again not sure what the problem was. The owners take much pride in their ownership of the property and have spent their own blood sweat and tears to build the place up and bring back a piece of Lebanon history. we have stellar reviews on booking.com and google so i believe we can safely say we value and take care of our guests outside a few problematic outliers who caused problems. we never wish for any guest to have a bad stay and its unfortunate you didn't mention anything to us earlier. finally we can at least agree the property is a gold mine and we will keep chugging's along to make it better day by day! Have a Great Day ** *****
