I purchased a 2019 ****** ******** from Vernon auto sales in May of 2024. When purchasing the vehicle I asked for a new battery which I was told was replaced. The next morning after taking the vehicle home the Battery was dead. I called Jason saying I wanted to return the car he convinced me to buy a new battery and he agreed to reimburse me which he did. On aug 15 while my car was at a mechanic because it was not running right I leaned that I needed a new engine. The engine was replaced for $3920. The dealership was called prior to replacing the engine and they said sorry for the inconvenience there is nothing we can do.

This is the first time that we are aware of this complain.

The customer in question was informed to bring the vehicle to us in regards to her concerns as stated in the purchase order. She only informed us of her concerns after she went somewhere else. ** *** requires a customer to contact the selling dealer if they have a mechanical or safety concern with the vehicle within 60 days of purchase.

In regards to her battery issue, we asked her to come over for a replacement but she preferred to do it herself. We refunded the battery cost even though it was 3 times the normal price.

She called after her repair somewhere else and asked if we were willing to purchase the car from her in which we told her that will not be a problem.

That was the last time we heard from her.

    Best Regards.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

This is not a truthful response. I asked for a replacement battery when I purchased the car because it had to be jumped for my test drive. I was told while picking up the car it had been replaced. I called Jason the morning after taking my car home stating the car was dead in my driveway and should I have it towed because I wanted to return the car. He convinced me to keep the car and pick up a battery at my local car parts store. At the store I was told when they looked up the 2019 ****** battery there was only one type of battery that was acceptable. They gave me that battery. And Jason told me to bring down the old battery with the receipt for the one purchases which I did. The car died every couple of days after that until a few months later when the engine died. I called the dealer asking what they could do to help me or take the car back they said nothing but that I could have service done there. I said at this point I don’t trust their work or their word and would rather have the work done by a ****** expert. I had the engine replaced by said expert. The car was then seen by the ****** dealer where a draw test was preformed. The car is still having issues and drawing on its own battery. I would have gladly sold the car back to the dealership at any point and asked for that several times but was never offered this option.

    Sincerely,

    ***** ********

    Business Response

As stated in the first response, The consumer is required to bring the vehicle back to the selling dealership if problems are encountered as per ** ***. The vehicle has to be brought back to the dealer for proper diagnosis and actual cause of concern, mileage driven, etc for us to take care of the concern. If the consumer chooses to take her vehicle elsewhere without giving the selling dealer an opportunity to repair the vehicle there is nothing we can do.

We will be more than happy to take a look at the vehicle if given a chance.
