On 10/30/2023 I signed 2 invoices for Elegant Windows in ********** to replace, hardware, drapes and sheers in the kitchen window and hardware and sheers in the family room window. for $ 6370.03. She asked for a deposit of $ 4000.00 which was paid. The second invoice for$ 810.00 is for installation of the hardware drapes and sheers. The drapes and sheers were scheduled to be installed today, so I called her yesterday to ask her if she wants me to give the balance of $ 2370.03 to the installer. She said yes then she said I have to add the price of the hardware which is $ 1,616.52. There was no mention of a separate price for the hardware in the invoice which I signed and neither was it mentioned in the conversation of that day. She claims that she sent me an invoice for it previously. What she did send me was the price for the hardwares for several windows in the house which includes the kitchen and family room. I am not sure if she is just a very disorganized person or she is trying to take advantage of another old lady. Is it legal for her to do this? What are my obligations in this matter? I have copies of the the invoices and the emails she sent me regarding the hardware if you'll give me an address to send it too. Thanks for your help.

My first appt with ********* was on 9-27-2023, we discussed new drapes, sheers & rods for her master bedroom and living room, we picked out the fabric & sheers.  I told her my installer will call her and come out to take exact measurements so I can give her a price. Around Oct 16 Time wen to ********* home and he measured master bed, living rm, and then she asked him to measure kitchen, dining rm, family rm, which I did not know she decided to do all those rooms.  *** next day sent me over what measurements I need for the rods and drapes which she needed for each room. On Oct 18 I emailed her a quote for all the rooms for drapes, sheers & rods. She agreed on the price and told me to come over and pick up a deposit.  When I arrived she said she changed her mind and she had another designer come over and gave her prices and she wanted me only to do the Family room & Kitchen, which was fine but all the paper work had to be done over, I hand wrote her a quote and told her I had to go back and send her a new quote for family room & kitchen for drapes, sheers & rods, after I hand wrote the quote she added a valance over kitchen sink.  I went back to my store on Oct 29 and emailed her a new quote which was for 6516.06.  I also emailed her a separate quote for the rods on October 18 that she stated in another email she wanted separated but only had to pay for the kitchen and family room rod.  In attachment you will see all invoices, emails, *** installation.  When I left that day she was happy with everything I went over with her and she gave me a deposit for 4,000.00 to start the process and wanted me to promise her I would have everything installed by Christmas in which I did.  On Dec 20 when everything was installed ********* was very happy with everything and gave *** a check for his services in full and a check for the balance of 2516.06 fo r my services but did not pay me for the kitchen windows of 62.00 and 75.00 and for the rods.  Attachements will show emailed dated set 27 & 28 stating we met at her home, statements from vendors where I ordered the rods, Invoice showing  the rods, Rod measurements from *** on Oct 16, *** invoice, Inv for family room and Kitchen, Pictures of Drapes.  I have been in business for over 35 years and have never had a problem with a customers on my services.  I have all 5 star reviews on Google. I am the only person that runs my business and I give 100 percent to my customers.  I go to customers home sometimes 3 - 4 times sometimes until the customer is 100% satisfied with what they are purchasing.  I am not trying to collect extra money from ********* that she does not owe me, it is fully explained in all the attached that is included in this complaint from *********, if you need any more information, please let me know.  Thank You  ********* owes for rods 1616.52 and valance over sink 62.00 & 75.00

I am sorry I was not able to respond to the request because I did not receive the email. The last email I received 2 days ago was the message that the case is closed and  the website was down for 2 days , so  I was only able to log in today. All I wanted to know is whether I am obliged to pay her since I have already paid her the full amount on the invoice that I signed  on 10/30/23. Aside from the  $ 1616.52 which she claims I owe her for the rods , she now has added $ 62.00 and $ 75.00 for the valance which she never told me before. I have already sent her another check for $ 143.03 on 12/22/23 which she claims is for increase in price of the fabric. I signed 2 invoices on 10/30/2023 ( $ 6370.03 for the draperies and  $ 810.00 for installation } and they were both paid in full . She told me that is all I am supposed to pay and now she is coming with all these additional items that she wants me to pay her. Is she allowed to do this and am I obliged to pay her?

    Thank you for your help.

    Good Afternoon

This is another email pertaining to the complaint from *********,   I emailed her saying I would go half on the rods with her or to let it go and not pay.  She is still writing to you regarding her legal rights, I honestly do not know what more that she want from me, I gave her two offers to settle this and she is still writing to you.  At the end of the day she still owes me for two rods, I made her two offers and is still complaining.

Please let me know what you would like me to do.

    Thanks You

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: I was hoping for  advice on what my legal responsibilities are and I did not get any.  I have written to the Bureau of Consumer Protection and will await their response.  Some contractors will give you a lower price to get you to sign the contract then will add  more charges at a later date. This is exactly what happened here. I noticed in her response to you that she had added more charges in addition to the rods. There are only 2 invoices with my signature on it and they were both paid  after the delivery of the product. Thank you.

    Sincerely,

    ********* *******
