Zero Stars, if that were an option:
Pete Haber, owner of Custom Cut Interiors, LLC, built a large set of cabinetry for us and he installed it in about 2018. Workmanship looked great and my builder indicated no problems working with Pete. The work got done on time. A few years later, in 2022, some of the cabinetry trim peeled away next to the under-cabinet lighting. It was impossible not to see this I know that it needs fixing.
I have reached out to the owner of this business MANY MANY times since February of 2023. He eventually replied. He explained that he had been distracted by family deaths. He needed time to regroup but would reach out to me in a few weeks. I left him alone for a month and then began reaching out again by the usual - text/phone/email. No response. Many more months and reminders later, he simply showed up one day, had a look, said it would be an "easy fix" and that he would come back the next week to repair. He never showed up; he didn't call to explain or reschedule. After another week or two, I resumed reaching out and he ignored my outreach. One day this year, out of the blue, he replied that he had a new installer and he would call me to set up a time to come out and make the repair the following Monday. He never called and he hasn’t responded to my outreach. It is now August 202, 18 months since I began reaching out to him about the needed repair. I have been more than patient. I have spoken to General Contractor friends who tell me that they are having the same problem. Excellent work - terrible communication.
I would like him to take care of this repair. No other woodworker is willing to come and fix another person's work. Makes it hard to repair before we put the house on the maket soon. The cabinetry problem is impossible to miss and the business owner apparently doesn't care.
Can anyone get him to take care of this problem?
