On 12/2/23 we had Berkeley Exteriors install two storm doors at our home . The cost was $450 for the install of both . They were not installed properly so they sent one of their guys back out . The back door was fixed but the front door has not been fixed . They have had someone come out 4-5 times to fix the door and the last time someone was out from Berkeley they damaged our porch and the storm door is worse than it’s ever been and we now have to slam the storm door shut if we want it closed . I have video from **** camera of the porch getting damaged and have sent video and photos of this and the door to Noel who is one of the managers I’ve been working with. I texted him to let him know about the damage March 18th . I also texted about the door still not working properly on Dec 8th . Owner came out the 12th . It keeps getting “ fixed “ but it never ever gets really fixed I texted again Feb 15th and the following dates about damage and storm door not working on March 18,25 and 27th as well as April 2 . I emailed the owner on Mike on April 5th and got mp response so on 4/9/24 I called Berkley and left message for Chris the other owner / mikes son and also sent him an email . They clearly aren’t going to fix these issues so we will need to hire someone to fix the issues . We also aren’t sure if we will need to replace the door altogether. I’d like the total amount of what we paid for install of both doors of $450 , $244 for what we paid for the door as we may have to repair it . We’d also like $500 for the damage that was caused to our property by their workers. This would be $1194 total that we’re requesting. They have have had many opportunities to fix/ install properly and unfortunately now just are giving us the runaround or just not responding at all .

lets begin with the fact that we were called in to complete a siding job that another contractor had been thrown off of.  That contractor installed the front entry door and the owner installed the kitchen entry door.  The storm doors themselves are not of a very good quality but we agreed to install them.  Keep in mind that the “squareness/levelness” of the entry door is crucial to the storm door install.  As started by the homeowner, we were able to get the kitchen storm to close properly but the front storm door (after 4 visits by competent personnel) still won’t close fully.  Homeowner had in fact complained about the front door install by the first contractor.  We had no desire to reinstall that door.
As for the damaged top rail on the front porch. We would be willing to drop off a new top rail for replacement by “others”.  And reimburse them for $100’labor to complete that repair.
my understanding is that these folks also had a problem with the windows installed by ******.  Tried to get most of their money back on that one.  Sooo…..I’m not willing to join the carnage experienced by two other contractors.  Storm doors were not purchased by us and the entry doors were not installed by us. Only so much you can do under those circumstances and we TRIED.

So I’m not sure what part of the porch they think is damaged but it’s in two areas and we have it all on video/ photos of the **** camera . I’m not also sure what our issues with ****** has to do with anything other than the company implying that we’re out for money or something. We paid for a service and it should be done professionally and not causing damage to our property. Furthermore a skilled professional would be able to adjust the storm door to accommodate the door install . My husband went to tech high school for construction and understands more the process of shimming etc to accommodate the door(s) . It should by no means take someone coming out more than a second time to fix the storm doors they installed never mind having to keep coming out because they’re not closing properly. I also sent this company emails and texts asking to rectify these issues and they stoped responding all together . The last I heard form them was April 11th via email and the son chis said his father would be in contact with me . I still haven’t heard anything. They could have not installed the storm doors if they felt that they couldn’t do them , that the storm doors were not good quality or that the front door wasn’t installed properly but they took on the task knowing the above . At any point they could of said they don’t want to do the job or continuing with the install . My husband fixed the issue and took him all of maybe 5 minutes. It’s frustrating that we had to pay for the install so my husband didn’t have to do it but then had to fix it anyway . Also , Berkeley’s employee had an issue with installing both the front and back storm doors I guess blaming the quality of storm doors . The storm doors  are  ****** and were purchased at ****** . I can’t imagine how many people purchase them and have them installed without issues . We are not looking to get all of our money back obviously but this issue shouldn’t haven gone on this long or have been handled this way . More so that now there is damage to my new porch. I did give the company opertunitys to fix the damage and door issues but they ignored us so we filed with the BBB . At this point we would like $1000 back for our time and  damage to our property.

I have a contract to buy 4 windows with 6 over 6 grills. When installed the windows were 8 over 8. I called many times after at least a month I finally get a call back and the owner said I must of changed the order. I did not. All my house windows are 6/6. I have left many more messages and no one returns my call. I want my 4 window grills. I was pleased with everything except the grills. They owe then to me and will not even call me.

Proper grids have been ordered. Actually the day before this complaint was filed. I don’t know what happened. I thought they ordered a long time ago by the supplier.  They had no record so I reordered. Should be here in couple of weeks.not an excuse but the pandemic brought lots of challenges. Most especially were changes in customer service personnel. You’d talk to a new person every other week. People would say, “I got it” and then drop the ball.

just a note.  I they must of received this message 1 day after I called them for the last time.  I told them I had moved on with filing a complaint and if that didn’t get them to order the grills my next step was to write reviews.  It’s been 2 weeks and I still don’t have the grills.  I will wait a while to see if I get them.

    thank you
