Jr. Is a mechanic at this shop I went there to have an engine installed thru my extended warranty he refused because he said that that company doesn't pay out. I told him to just make the claim because i spoke to them and they explained the process but Mr. Jr was verbally abusing me telling me to get the * outta his shop shut * up and using very bad language. I sent him a text asking how much would he charge if he does the job he told me 600.00 that I had to buy the engine, fluids, oil and coolant, so I did, when I asked for a receipt he said no because it was an off the books job but I didn't ask for an off the books job I wanted a receipt he again used bad language hung up on me. I called back he said he'll give me receipt if I pay the taxes and of course that's the right thing to do. I complained to the owner in the ******* shop but he didn't care he made excuses. Now it's been less than 30 days and my check engine light is on and he tells me I didn't pay for spark plugs and other things the engine needed. If he would of told me that I needed other things I would of purchased them but he never told me. Now he's threatening me saying that I wanted to scam my extended warranty when it's not true he didn't want to give me receipts for other jobs he's done so I asked if he can have an other shop give me receipts but he said that I'd have to pay them off the books for a receipt. This man has emotionally hurt my feelings. I feel disrespected and now he wants to be the victim. I'm scared that if this shop does fix my car they will retaliate against me and it can be very dangerous for my life. I'd like for them to pay an other licenced facility repair shop to fix my car the appropriate way.

Monroe Ct Discount Muffler and Brakes. Good evening, this is jr from ct discount. The manager regarding id ********. The customer provided the engine, oil, and coolant that is all she provides. She told the customer there was no warranty on parts, only labor. Car came back 3 weeks after engine was installed for catalytic converter and o2 sensor codes and she said that was my problem.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 08/28/2024

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: He is not saying the truth. I have the text where I stated that the check engine light is on. When I spoke to him he said it's not his problem and even used profanity. I did say all you you had to do was say bring it in and I'll check it. I was the one who told him it was the catalytic converter and o2 sensors. I never blamed him for the light coming on. It wasn't hard to just be nice and say bring it in and we'll see what happened with the light coming on.

    Sincerely,

    ****** *****

Our 2005 ***** ****** went into the shop mid July of 2023, for a complete Fuel kit replacement containing the new parts of a
    1) Fuel Pump
    2) New canister
    3) New gas lines
    4) New neck
    5) New straps to hold gastank.
This was to be done due to the fact the truck has 2 vapor leaks above gas tank. It will not pass emissions. These parts were order fin March of 2023 and were on back order until june 2023, company also shut down for awhile according to merchanic (JR- MGR) of the shop. We only deal with him its a 1 man shop. We put a deposit of $ 500.00 for the parts and the labor was $ 300.00.

The truck went into the shop with the engine light on and the proper codes for the problem, We told JR to save us all the old parts, which he did not he said he threw them away. When we got the truck back 3 days later we were driving it home and the engine light came on, we called Jr and told him the light was on. We brought the truck to the emission place located in ******* **. IT failed due to the vapor leak. We called Jr. Again and his boss about problem, big fight Jr, is refusing to sign the paper work for *** emissions stating that we worked on the truck..

We have now brought the truck to a new station to be fixed and was told by the owner and merchanic there are no new parts in the truck at all, and to change the the fuel pump the gas tank needs to be taken down there was no indication of that being done. Due to the rust on the ring on top of the gas tank, if you take it down, you may not being able to reuse the tank, therefore we had to purchase a new tank and all the parts over again. A police report has been filed with the ****** police dept.

In closing we are asking for a full $ 840.00 refund this includes the 2xs fr emission test
