- Additional Info:In May 2018, Connecticut BBB started an investigation after receiving five complaints in the span of eight months. GiftFly LLC is registered in NY State, and the business was established in Darien, CT. It provided a platform for small businesses to offer gift cards for purchase and use by their customers. However, for at least the past year, businesses have reported not receiving compensation by GiftFly for the cards being tendered by customers, and most businesses have stopped honoring their gift cards as a result. The complaints forwarded by BBB were being returned as undeliverable with no forwarding address, which prompted further investigation. The New Canaan address currently displayed on GiftFly's website is home to another business entirely, and the owner has never heard of GiftFly or its principals. BBB also contacted former business customers and New York City officials in its attempt to locate GiftFly or its principals, without success. Businesses and consumers are warned to independently verify the continued existence of GiftFly before trying to utilize their services or purchase giftcards.
