    I visited the Russell Speeders Car Wash New Haven in December for a one-time wash. When I arrived, I was charged $11.70, which I paid as requested. However, instead of only charging me for that single service, they signed me up for a monthly membership without my consent.

    As a result, I was charged $28.70 every month (in January and February 2025) even though I never returned.

    When I noticed the charges and tried to contact them, I found that it was impossible to reach them by phone. The only way to stop the charges was to cancel my credit card and request a new one from my bank. My bank is now reviewing the case to see if I can get a refund.

    This is a dishonest business practice, and I want BBB to investigate.

    Desired Outcome:
    • A full refund of the unauthorized charges ($28.70 in January and $28.70 in February).
    • The company should clearly inform customers about memberships and all charges before enrolling them.

    Dear *******,

    I received an offer from Kathy K***, Lead Administrator-Operations at Russell Speeders/Waters Car Wash, to refund the two months of charges for a subscription plan that I did not sign up for.

    Today, I sent my response to Kathy K*** (attached), indicating my preferred method for receiving the refund. As soon as I receive the funds, I will inform you immediately. At that point, the issue that prompted my complaint to the BBB can be considered resolved.
