  On June 12th, 2025 Better Business Bureau Serving Connecticut (BBB Serving CT) opened an investigation into the business practices of Superior Roofing to examine its possible connection to a current Accredited Business (AB) as Superior Roofing had an unanswered complaint alleging it operated without a license or approved permits during a job contracted for October 2024. The investigation determined that the current AB was the former partner of Superior Roofing's current owners and has not been associated with the company since 2022.

  
  The investigation found that Superior Roofing’s state registered LLC was dissolved in June of 2022, at the time of this partner separation. Superior Roofing was then re-registered as an LLC with the state of Connecticut by the new sole principal, Bianca Cornacchia, in September of 2022.  The registration was forfeited in October of 2024 at which time it is believed that Ms. Cornacchia began operating under NexGen Construction, LLC. NexGen Construction was registered as an LLC in May of 2020 and is registered at the same North Haven address as the second Superior Roofing LLC. State registration paperwork for NexGen Construction, LLC also provides an email address known to be connected to Ms. Cornacchio.  

  
  Documents from the state, the town of Simsbury, and the complainant show that the current owners of NexGen Construction, operating under the business name of Superior Roofing, did not have the required home improvement registration (HIC) when they started and completed a full roof replacement in October 2024. Furthermore, the business did not obtain a building permit for the project until the month after the project was completed, according to town records. The HIC issued under the Superior Roofing, LLC name expired on 3/31/2024 and renewal of said license was denied by the state Department of Consumer Protection.  The business did not have an HIC until NexGen Construction’s HIC was granted in April of 2025, 6 months after the completion of the aforementioned project.  

  
  BBB Serving CT urges consumers to check with their town to ensure all necessary permits have been obtained before any contracted work begins. It is also suggested that consumers verify with the state of Connecticut, here, to ensure contractors have active and current licenses/registrations required for contracted work.
