When the water authority tried to shut off the water off at my multifamily home located in New Haven, CT claiming that I owed $20,000 accumulated over a ridiculously short period of time I ended up hiring an attorney to get them to test THEIR equipment installed in my house. It was discovered that the equipment was faulty and the reason for the exorbitant bill. They agreed to remove their lien on the property, replace the equipment and write of the bill in favor of establishing a new account which I kept paid for the duration of my time in the property. When I was forced to sell the property years later all bets were off for the heartless money grubbers! They rushed to secretly reestablish the lien, pretended there was no agreement between a local attorney regarding the disposal of the old bill and establishing a new account, swallowed any semblance of ethical thought or behavior and ran for money they WERE NOT ENTITLED TO. They answer to no one, not even the DPUC so they could care less about honesty or being fair and what's right. They act like the money goes into their personal pockets and I guess as far as the board members and others high up the food chain it probably does at the expense of honest people just trying to survive. I will continue to tell my truth on every forum I can find for as long as I can. If the only thing I have working is one finger and a breathing straw to control the computer I will post my story for all to read.

I am writing this review to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the service provided by Regional Water Authority, specifically in the handling of my account during a challenging period. My name is Ben, and I have been a customer for eight years.
This year, I fell on hard times and unfortunately, that resulted in falling behind on my bills, including those with Regional Water Authority. On the two occasions this year when my water service was disconnected, I sought assistance from their billing department. On their recommendation, I agreed to a payment arrangement, believing that as long as I adhered to this plan, my water service would not be disrupted again.
To my shock and dismay, the week of Thanksgiving brought another water service disruption. The timing was not only inconvenient but also embarrassing, as I had guests, including my mother-in-law, staying with me for the holiday. When I contacted Regional Water Authority, I was informed that there was no documentation of the payment arrangement I had entered into. To restore service, I was told I needed to pay half of the remaining bill and a reconnection fee.
This situation has been emotionally distressing, and I find it unacceptable that the company's billing department failed to properly document the arrangement they suggested. Discovering that there was only a note in their system labeled as a "promise to pay" felt like a bait-and-switch tactic. It is disheartening to realize that the distinction between a promise to pay and a payment plan does not offer adequate protection to customers facing financial hardships.
While I understand the importance of meeting financial obligations, the lack of transparency and communication regarding the terms of the arrangement has left me feeling deceived and unfairly treated. As a customer actively working to overcome financial challenges, I expected more understanding and support.

They have very few payment plans and a maximum interest rate for overdue bills. Even the smallest bills can become thousands before you know it. They have a monopoly and know it. There is no negotiating. Id give them a zero if I could
