On April 27, 2025, I went to get an exterior car wash from the Old Greenwich ***** station. The attendant asked if I wanted a membership and I declined. He then offered a limited pollen cleaning wash for 20 ish dollars + tax, I agreed to but at no time did he explain this would lead to monthly charges of $42.53. This is a deceptive practice as I made it clear to him that I didn’t want a monthly subscription. My understanding is that this limited account expired 30 days. I noticed the recurring charge on May 28th went to resolve this on June 1 and asked that the fee be refunded. The same attendant told me no and that he has done hundreds of these and doesn’t make mistakes, which is why I am trying to resolve it here. I not only want my money back but the attendants should be trained to specifically state that there will be a recurring fee.Initial Complaint

I lived in ******** ** and have since moved to ******. While I was in ** I signed up for unlimited car washes. Because I moved I tried to cancel my unlimited service for 3 months now. No one ever answers the phone and their website does not work. I tried to mail a letter to them but no response. I called my credit card Co but they were of little use. I simply want this to end. It seems that I am by far not the only one with such a complaint against this co.Initial Complaint

Hi, I just went through the car wash, but my car didn’t get cleaned. There was still visible dirt that reasonably should have been cleaned, including on the windshield from the marker that was used to know what grade of wash I got. My car was not that dirty to begin with. I asked to go back through the wash or be refunded and they were unable to do so. They tried to sell me on buying another service, to spend $37 to through a car wash machine. I’d like my $12 back. I feel very taken advantage of.Initial Complaint

Some time last winter I enrolled in the Old Greenwich Car Wash's unlimited carwash membership. On February 23rd, after realizing that i wasn't using the carwash enough to make the monthly membership worthwhile, I went to their website "******************************************" and found the following instructions (still the same at the time of this writing) for termination my membership under the heading "How can I cancel my membership for unlimited carwash":
"Please give the following information to cancel your membership: First & Last Name, Vehicle ID# or last 4 digits of your credit card no. on file. Send a text to ************ or email at *****************************"
Following the instructions, I sent an email to the designated email address with my first and last name and the last 4 digits of my credit card. I further asked in the email that if their were any questions that they reach my by text or phone on my cell phone as i get literally 100 emails a day and I might miss an email reply.
On March 4th, I was notified by my credit card company that an additional monthly charge had been assessed. I immediately searched my texts, phone msgs, and then emails and found an email from them seemingly dated February 24 asking for the following additional information:
1: Last 4 digits of the credit card in use
2: The complete license plate of the car
3: Expiration Date of the Credit Card
4: Your full name
5: RFID on the sticker that was given when you first received the membership.
I then sent an email to the carwash with the additional requested data. I have just noticed that my April credit card statement reflected another month's membership.
I don't think I should have been billed for March given I followed their online instructions, but regardless, I certainly shouldn't have been billed for April. Additionally their online termination instructions need to be updatedBusiness Response

We appologize for the additional charge. There were multiple accounts in our system under the customers name so we wanted to make sure that we were cancelling the correct account which is why we asked for the additional information. We have refunded the charge that has occured on March 4th, 2024 , however, our system shows that there was no charge to the account in April as the account was cancelled on March 4th. The refund was processed on March 4th, 2024.Initial Complaint

Hello, two months ago I paid for a car wash at this service station. The person at the counter suggested I pay a nominal fee to upgrade my wash this one time. I agreed. Turns out in accepting the upgrade I had inadvertently agreed to a membership. I emailed immediately asking them to cancel. There was no response to two emails. They continue to charge my card.Business Response

On 8/13/2022, I visited Old Greenwich Car Wash. When I was going through the car wash, the attendant asked me is I wanted to pay for 1 unlimited monthly because it was less than the single wash I was purchasing. He said it was for 1 month so I agreed. Since then, I have had a reoccurring charge on my credit card. I have called them a few times to have it canceled and was told it would be. I have also filed something with my credit card company. I am requesting a refund for every month after the month beginning 8/13/2022.Business Response

I would like to provide a response in regard to Complaint ID: ********.
We have reached out to the customer and have agreed to refund all charges occured for the past 6 months. Unfortunately due to system limitations we are unable to refund any charges prior to that. The customer may dispute any charges prior to that time frame with the issuing bank.
Our management team is still looking into the other three complaints. I will provide you with our responses for those as soon as management has finished their investigation. Thank you ****!
Best Regards,

I signed up for the monthly car wash in October 2022 and was told the place was running a special and for $9.99 a month, I get unlimited car wash. My charge was $11.26 for the first month, then unbeknownst to me, it went up to $21 the next two months, then $42.53 for the entire 2023 and now $44.61 in January 2024. I tried contacting the business in which no one picked up the phone. I am disputing the charge w/ my credit card company and was told they cannot prevent the business from continuing charging me. I want this to stop and recoup the overcharge since November 2023.Business Response

At the time of purchase, our business was running a promotion in which customers would receive the first three months for a discounted rate of $19.99 plus tax per month. After that, the price goes up to our regular price of $41.99 per month. Our cashiers communicate this to our customers and a description of the terms regarding the recurring charges is also included on the receipt. Upon conducting an investigation, it is shown that the customer has been actively using the membership until January 15th 2024. The customer has not mentioned any concerns to our cashiers or management. I have attached a file with the customers activity which shows when our services were redeemed and the charges that have been applied to the account.Initial Complaint

I paid for one month car wash and have been getting charged $42.53 monthly. I did not want this, I did not authorize this.. Have contacted *** . Started in March 2022 (that charge is legit). Moved away in April 2022 but have been inappropriately charged same amount every month since.
