$1,575 Later Still Not Fixed - I took my riding mower to NE Power, where I originally bought it, for spring service and to fix a stalling issue. They charged me $1,319, which I thought was steep—but the mower is 5 years old, and I wanted it properly serviced. I specifically asked them to find out why it was stalling.
They picked it up and returned it in April 2025. I used it 3 times—and it was still stalling. Even worse now: it started backfiring and making a knocking noise. I called them again, they picked it up a second time, and then I got a call saying: “It was just out of gas. We ran it for 30 minutes. It’s fine.” Then they billed me another $256—including a transportation fee I was never told about. I said I had a trailer and could have picked it up myself. They claimed the free pickup from earlier was a “March/April special.” News to me.
So now I’m at $1,575—and on the very next mow, same issue: stalling, backfiring, and knocking. Worse than before. I went down to the shop in person and said I wasn’t looking for a refund—I just wanted the thing fixed and couldn’t justify spending more money. Their response? “You never told us it was stalling the first time,” and “We don’t have a crystal ball.”
So apparently I’m lying about why I brought it in? And then I’m too dumb to know it was “just out of gas”? I showed them a video of it sputtering and knocking with a full tank—they still refused to look at it again unless I paid another $140/hour for a diagnostic. After I already paid them to diagnose it twice?
So I took it to a small shop in the next town. The guy opened the hood, took off the engine cover, and immediately found the problem: a huge old mouse nest and a ground-up mouse tangled in the engine. That was it. He also replaced the solenoid for $45 to help it start easier. It runs perfectly now.
That means NE Power never even looked at the engine. They charged me nearly $1,600, guessed wrong, insulted me, and refused to stand behind their work.

My husband bought a s120 lawn tractor. In three years it has been in the dealership for repairs at a cost. This last time they picked up the tractor by driving it UP the driveway to a flatbed. I called about the repairs and they said that there were repairs before and it it would be several weeks before it would be. I had to ask for invoices on repairs that they sent to an email that did not exist. The salesman made an offer for a new tractor with NO trade in. When I asked him about it he said he would have to fix it up to sell it. Dealerships have down times for techs and reduced replacement prices. I stopped at the dealership and asked for a brochure and was told to go on line, He made it a point to tell me to spell it DEERE. I was upset about feeling talked down to. The tractor has been housed in a garage and in mint condition. SOOOOO,,,I was told I need a new battery, transmission and dash. AT NO TIME was I told the battery was dead. I had the transmission replaced. When they brought the tractor back on the flatbed the battery was dead and key missing. I called the dealership. They said they told me. I told them that the battery was good went it left the house. They never said it was DEAD. Shame on them. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!0000rating

Can I give them zero? I had two completely different experiences at this business. Sales and equipment rental: very nice guy, very responsive and helpful when I bought a $5000 Husqvarna mower. Also separately rented some equipment from the same guy, and everything was smooth.
Parts and especially service is literally the worst experience I have ever had. The $5000 mower literally died in my yard 3 weeks after I got it home. I called NE Power Equipment to come get it and fix it. Four weeks later now and they still have not fixed and still don’t have parts for the mower. The service asshole won’t call me back even after 3 calls and 3 messages to a staff person for a call back. Basically at this point I want my money back and I will go buy the same mower from a good business. NE Power Equipment service is the worst ever. Don’t waste your time or money there. I’m also calling Husqvarna because this makes their products look really bad, and they aren’t.

I called service and he said the machine backfired and broke some baffles in the muffler!!! I asked him to replace the muffler and he refused saying the mufflers were not available any more from **** *****!!! the machine was purchased from them in 2011.

AVOID THIS PLACE. I brought my riding mower (which I bought from them years before) in for repairs in October 2023. I received a call within a few days stating the repair dollar amount in "parts and labor".
When I went to the store to pay and pick-up my mower there was an ADDITIONAL FEE CHARGE of $53.55 for "Shop Supplies and Hazmat Fee". The counter person told me "that's a charge for rags and oil" and that it's in the labor charge" (I didn't have an oil change). OBVIOUSLY NOT!
When I asked to see the Manager the counter person said "Ted" was a part owner (he works in the repair area). He said these charges are a percentage of their monthly expense which is charged via a percentage to all customers. He REFUSED to remove the charge when I said that I WAS NOT TOLD ABOUT THIS CHARGE WHEN HIS COUNTER PERSON CALLED ME WITH THE REPAIR CHARGES. His customer service skills were horrible.
The front (sales) counter person said the owner is usually not there. (The owner never returned my calls from a previous problem some years back).
So they simply "wrote me off" as a customer after having purchased a riding mower and snowblower from them in the past.

If I could zero stars I would. The worst customer service and treatment I have ever experienced. I will never return, and I will inform my family and friends to stay away. They lie to get the sale and don't honor service agreements. The service guy Marcus, won't even look at you while he's ripping you off. I unfortunately gave them my money for an expensive backpack blower but they will never get my business again. STIHL will not be happy when corporate knows how they treat the customers buying their products from New England power equipment. BUYER BEWARE for sure
