    My wife contacted Robyn (our agent) after receiving a notice that our insurance policy was not going to be renewed unless we installed a new roof. The notice told us to contact our agent if we had any questions. Robyn told my wife that we needed to have a "signed contract" for the policy to renew.
    Robyn stated in an email to us on 9/21/2023 that "today" the underwriter required a "completed roof". Robyn even says in her email to us "I must go with what they are telling me", but Robyn was now saying something entirely different.
    We contacted ***** **Insurance directly, and the underwriter clarified what he thought likely happened. Previously, ******* renewed policies with signed contracts in place, BUT this policy changed "1-2 years ago". Agents were educated about the updated policy "about a year ago".
    Why did Robyn provide incorrect and outdated information to me? Why did Robyn provide information that was not consistent with CURRENT requirements for policy renewal? We alerted the owner (Mrs Danielle Butzgy), and she simply shifted responsibility from her agency to the insurance company.
    We acted on the information that Robyn, and this insurance agency, provided to us, and our policy was cancelled. Sadly, if we had spoken to Farmers directly (and not this agency) from the beginning, this unpleasant situation for all involved would have been avoided.
